Anyone ever been to Paragon Park in MA, USA?

Just wondering if anyone has any pix or memories of the place. It was a frequent visit for my family as we grew up in South Weymouth MA.

I've managed to find a few pix online, but not many.

Thanks!

I've never been, but I was talking to a non-enthusiast friend who grew up in Boston, and he sure remembered the place....even that one GOOD wooden coaster he remembered...

hehe, pretty cool when we told him we rode it in MD.....

We all know which woodie Rollergator is reffering to and SFA's got it.

Does anyone have any pic's of Wild one at it's former home because I'd sure love to see what she looked like in her original place of operation and the original layout as well.

Read down to where I posted a site with links and info on all the park on the show that night. We all know that Wild One will probably never live up to the thrills of the Giant Coaster of Paragon. I also wrote what the show showed about what happened to Paragon Park. IT really said when you finally realize how Lincoln Park, Mountain Beach, Paragon Park, and others up here went out. You can read at the link above.

Too bad there's no real info on Paragon park,I did take a look at the paragon park carousel page and was thinking that the old carousel would really look great at SFA to replace the piece of junk one they've got now.

Yes, I went to the Chronicle link, but unfortunately there was no info there. Nor do they send/sell episodes on tape, which is a bummer. Best they do is tell ya when it may air again.

Thanks for the post tho!

I used to work in Hull, Mass years ago. We'd go to Paragon a couple of times a week during the summer. The coaster was a favorite of mine for many years.
I left the area in the mid seventies and never got back to Paragon. A while back I heard that the park was being demolished to make room for condos or something. At the time, I wasn't going to parks so I was pretty out of touch with the industry. It saddened me to think that a great ride was to become a victim of the wrecking ball.
In 1999 I started to hit the parks again. Things had changed a lot to say the least. So I picked up a book on coasters, 'Roller Coasters' by Shafer. The coaster on the cover looked very familiar. Imagine my surprise when I found out this was the Giant Coaster from Paragon and now it had a new home! I was delighted. In 2000 we made the trip to SFA to ride this great woody again. I'm glad this treasure was saved for future generations to enjoy.

I have a picture of it but it is in a roller coaster book that I have.

I've also got a pic of the giant in one of my coaster books as well, that thing was huge and hardly recognizable back then.
Well thanks for the info and posts folks. Someday I'll find some more out there. I do have a pic of the coaster in one of my books, but I was hoping for more pix of the park in general. If I find any, I'll be sure to let you know.
