To tell you the truth, I just find the whole situation a riot act. As each problem comes up I laugh harder and harder. This reminds me of the Mr. Freeze, Chiller incident.

Oh boo hoo. Those of you in Georgia got Acrophobia, those of you in Chicago got Vertical Velocity, and those of you in LA got Goliath Junior (haha) and will probably get X. So what if your big boomerang doesn't open on time? It's not like you didn't get anything else already this season! Great America and Magic Mountain probably weren't going to get anything in 2002, so at least they'll get Deja Vu then and you'll like it! Yes, it is looking a lot like what happened with Premier Rides and the Mr Freeze/Chillers. I have a feeling Six Flags isn't going to buy much Vekoma gear in 2002 unless Vekoma sweetens the deal and throws in some freebies to make up for this goof.
If you want to ride it, goto a park with an invertigo, get on it, and close your eyes. Imagine its layout is a GIB's layout, and I'm sure it'll feel the same, except the lifts wouldn't be as steep. No matter what, I won't get a chance to ride one this season, and I could care less. SFGAm got V2... mmm... V2... I bet it's way better, I thought it would be before I rode it, and after riding it, I don't see how anything could be better than it (except SFGAm's Viper and BCK&C's Cyclops.) I mean, I liked V2 better than Raging Bull! How could a boomerang (of any proportion) be better than a hypercoaster?

Intrest in Deja Vu? Its a boomerang! it goes one way and comes back and is made by Vekoma. Well I figured problems would be worked out by now. I thought X was going to take much longer than a boomerang, I guess I was wrong.

You are the Weakest Link, Goodbye.
I am excited about the ride but i wouldn't wait more than 30 minutes to ride it.

I agree with John Peck, I'd just like to know what's going on. Something is a bit odd here. However, the problems have actually heightened my interest in it.
TriBiggar, V2 better than Bull?!?! What are you smoking?
I want to ride it only to say that it sucks. it would be cool to ride it this year, but it might also be cool to have three new attractions three years in a row at SFGAm. assuming that GAm does something for 2003 (water park, B&M). so I guess I could wait until next year to tell people that it sucks.
one thing that I find very funny is that SF's partner in crime, WBMV, is planning to have a GIB next year and the ones that were supposed to open this year probably won't open until next year. four GIBs in 2002!

It's nice to hear the flip side of the GIB anticipation for a change, Nasai. I guess I'm not the only one that's not terribly fond of boomerangs, in whatever incarnation they come. I'll ride Deja Vu once and have fun, but I STRONGLY prefer a good hyper or woodie (or anything Swiss :) ) to rides like boomerangs.
For those who are excited and can't wait to ride Deja Vu over and over: More power to you....have a blast! I wish I could enjoy boomerangs/invertigos as much as some others. But, some people prefer chocolate, some prefer strawberry....

I like diversity. I am always willing to try something that is different a proposes a new experience. If a coaster can deliver that, then I am all for it.

MF4, you found an Invertigo rough and uncomfortable? I've never heard anyone say that about Two Face at SFA. It's now been open almost 3 years and it's still as smooth when it first opened. Personally, I'm still excited to ride a Super Invertigo (even though none of them are close). I think everyone on this forum will be a lot less jaded when they finally open (assuming they do).

Peabody, we are one and the same! Now go to Japan and ride the SD2K! Write me. Perhaps we can exhange thoughts on coasters, and work, hmmm?

;)Rollercoasters are like parrots...if you take care of them, they should outlive you;)
I agree with SFMMFREAK 85 when I went to Six Flags Great America there Deja Vu wants open! How much did Deja Vu at Great Ameica Cost? Why build a coaster if it wont even open at all during the year. If you do a lot of advertising saying Deja Vu will OPEN and it doesnt it kind of makes the park look bad. I would say Deja Vu should be a Defunt coaster!

Dang, all you guys are talking like this is the only time this has ever happened. No offense but you all sound like a bunch of 8 year olds who didnt get that dirtbike for christmas. Technical setbacks are a part of life and with the way technology is advancing in these rides, we can expect mechanical complications like this a whole lot more. Just think, if the ride had opened on time, we'd all be tired of it by now.
Lets get this straight once and for all, Vekoma builds junk!!!!! Once I found out Vekoma was trying to build the ride, I wrote the ride off and lost any interest in the ride what-so-ever. It will more than likely become a problematic boomerang like all their other junk they manufacturer.
I wouldn't say losing interest but if they don't have a reasonable explanation for why it has been delayed soooooo long, I will probably not ride it. Safety is too important at 196ft vertical.
Im not losing interest, just getting annoyed. It shouldnt take this long for it. They should have worked out the problems or known what to expect upon building. Maybe if they sped up the process too.
