Anyone do CP's Mystery Package Last Year?

Lord Gonchar's avatar
Just wondering how it was if you did.

We were very interested last year, but ended up moving in Sept.

Looks like they're doing it again this year and now I'm 4 hours closer to the point and not currently changing residence. Looks like a lot of fun to me.

Anyone able to share some insight on last year's?

I wish I could go that looks really rad!

Thanks,
DMC

Ohhh....I was planning on it last year, but couldn't get anybody to do It with me....maybe we'll finally get to meet @ Mystery Weekend, Gonch! And this time it wouldn't be my first ever visit, so I could actually enjoy the murder investigation!
Every time I click it gives me an error - can someone provide a detail or two?

We almost went last year, but already had plans that weekend. Looks like fun...maybe this year.
The Ghost Ship of Cedar Point
A Murder by Moonlight
  • Is CSI your favorite television show?
  • Were you an insatiable Nancy Drew addict?
  • Do you have a clone of Columbo’s raincoat in your closet?
  • Would you rather curl up with a Sherlock Holmes’ exploit than go to a movie?
  • Have you named your cat Agatha Christie?
  • Are you a Cedar Point fan?

If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, we have the perfect chance for you to practice your detecting abilities while enjoying the Best Amusement Park In The World: a Mystery Package at the historic Hotel Breakers.Cedar Point will present this perplexing, family-friendly mystery on two weekends in September, and you’re invited to join the Cedar Point Detective Agency to help solve the case.

The Mystery

Reports of a ghost ship, rumors of a diabolical Lake Erie Triangle and a murder will challenge you and other investigators from the Cedar Point Detective Agency. The most intriguing aspect of the case: the dead man’s curious collection of nearly 100 gold nuggets. Don your deerstalker cap and be prepared to think on your feet as you sift through legends of Viking treasure and Yukon gold to find the answer, exploring behind-the-scenes and throughout Cedar Point as you hunt for the solution to this baffling case.

How it works

Mystery participants will check into the Hotel Breakers on either September 10 or 17. On Friday evening, you’ll meet your detective teammates and gather for an informational program. Then you’ll be taken to deserted behind-the-scenes locations to investigate a crime. You must be ever-alert and vigilant, for you never know when something might happen!

Saturday morning all detectives will breakfast together and get more information on the case. Then you’re going to search for clues for your investigation, visiting mystery sites and meeting characters in the amusement park.

By a Saturday evening dinner, having worked to solve the puzzle all day, you and your teammates will be ready to relax, share a delicious meal, tie up the last few loose ends of the case and discover whether you figured out who committed the dastardly crime!

Mystery Packages

A single Mystery Package is designed for two people over the age of 17 (because of the complexity level of the story). You may add more detectives to your room for an additional charge.

A Mystery Package includes:

  • Two nights accommodations at the Hotel Breakers
  • Saturday breakfast for two people
  • Saturday dinner for two people
  • Participation in all mystery events

Packages for two people range from $374.36 - 497.56 (tax included), depending on room type. Discounted Cedar Point admission tickets for Sunday are available for purchase for only $35. The deadline for reservations is Monday, August 2. Please call (419) 627-2106 for more information or to place a reservation.

Enough details, lol, I dunno, sounds cool and I would like to go if I found someone to go with...

Hey Brett, if you go and need a roommate(presuming the little lady dosen't go with you;)), or even if you don't need one, let me know. You and Gonch there would be cool, and maybe I could talk Andy into going as well.

Not sure if I'll go or not. The August 2nd registration deadline is probably going to be a little too tight for us - I still have coaster trips to take between now and then.

Still looks like fun. Maybe we'll just head over to CP one of those last weekends before Halloweekends (minus the Mystery package thing) - rooms on property are going dirt cheap for those weekends.

Certainly something we're considering either way.

The second weekend is going to be interesting as it coincides with CoasterMania. Between that event and the actors/characters from the murder mystery roaming around the park is definitely going to have an eclectic vibe.
I don't think I have the cash for that, although it would be cool. I probably have enough cash though to go up and get a place at the Comfort Inn just to people watch that 2nd weekend! Paris is right, that will be one in-ter-esting crowd!

Gonch, let me know what weekend you're heading up and Tekno, see if you can come that weekend. Probably would have the girl along so couldn't hang for too long but we could all catch a MF ride or somethin ...

Oh, I didn't even realize Coastermania landed that one weekend.

Hmmm.
