Anyone been to Wildwood NJ this summer?

Hello everyone, I was just wondering if anyone has been to wildwood this summer and if so, what were your experiences like, with some of hte changes to the piers, and espeically without Castle Dracula not being there anymore?

My experience was a fun one, but i feel that the morey's pier should take there go cart tracked pier and add some more rides there or something like a new coaster or something.

have a great day

I agree that Moreys Piers and Mariners Landing is overdue for a coaster. With that said I still have a good time there. Castle Dracula is not apart of Moreys, but is run by a group named Nickels. I believe they intend of putting some kind of ride in CD place, and it wont be another haunted castle. I am thinking something like Tomb Raider the ride. Moreys just purchased the old Dinosaur pier so I expect a build up of that in the near future. Wheres Agent Johnson? He knows all about the Wildwood situations
I love Wildwood, NJ! My family and I have been going there every year since 1998. It's now a family tradition. I hope that Moreys opens up the darkride/rollercoaster on the old dinosaur beach pier. I think it was called the golden nugget. Does anyone know if that ride will ever open again? It looks like a fun ride!

Supposedly, big things are planned for Wildwood during the next couple of years... but keep in mind that these are all rumors and not facts:

The Golden Nugget is supposed to reopen at some point in the future, although I heard that it will probably be rethemed... perhaps as some kind of "ride through Wildwood's past" deal.

Someone from Morey's stated in a summer newspaper article about the Wildwoods that there are plans to build a 200-foot tall coaster. Whether it will be a hyper or an Impulse or something totally different has not been made clear.

Finally, I read that the proposed Dracula's Castle replacement might include some kind of coaster in the dark. Yet I've also heard other things as well, things that have nothing to do with a coaster!

I went this year...it was really fun. If you wanna read my reports and pic check em out:

I could see Moreys getting an Impulse. Its a good, thrilling ride but it can fit nicely into one of the piers. In addition, the large height of thed coaster would surely bring along guests.

I have seen endless cases of visitors walking past the 25th avenue (Moreys Pier) Pier and say "ohh, theres no coaster, lets go to the next one". This is because the elevated level of the pier at the GNE are almost hides it. If the Publuc saw a huge , towering spike, they would go in that direction.

How much more floorless can they get?
