Anyone been to wild west world?

I have been watching the trip report section , but have not seen any tr's on www yet.

I am planning a trip out that way later this summer, and would like to know if it is worth the stop.

Anyone been there?

what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

I considered going over the weekend, but after seeing pictures of it (lots of dirt) and considering the current ride selection and the fact that they intend to add a large coaster in the near future, I decided to wait. Apparently somewhere on their website was a pledge to install a "world class" coaster in 2009--I read about this claim on another website. My money is on WOOD in 2009. :)

Long live the Big Bad Wolf

Is that the park where bald-headed animatronic cowboys with scary eyes roam the streets, looking for trouble but not actually able to hurt you since their guns can't hurt human flesh, that is until they go haywire and start chasing you through the underground backstage area and ultimately to a Roman hall where you melt their faces and finally escape? Oh wait, sorry, that's somewhere else. ;)

For some reason, the blacktop just does not fit in with the western theme.

Heres the most fair description I've seen from my friend Chief Flaco:
My family has season passes, we live 5 min away, and we've gone to wild west world 3 times so far. So here are my thoughts.....

It's definately very cool to see a park built from absolutely nothing. I mean this was just a farmers field 4 yrs ago. And with all the parks closing around the nation, it's nice to see a new one open up. But obviously $30 million doesn't get you much these days. I think the park will definately improve over the next 5 yrs.

wild west world is not a teenage, or thrill seeking adult type of park. It is meant to be a family park. And families, especially smaller children will have a good time.

wild west world is still under construction. The landscaping is not complete. There is construction debris lying around. And two rides are not finished yet (and may not be for several weeks).

As wild west world stands now, it is probably not worth spending the entire day there. Even with all the rides and entertainment in place, a half day will be plenty of time. If you are planning to come down to check wild west world out, I would wait untill after 5pm (maybe 6pm) as they give you a price break after that time.

My family and I have enjoyed our time at the park so far, and plan on going numerous times over the ssummer season. And i'm looking forward to seeing what wild west world looks like in the coming years. *** Edited 5/31/2007 12:01:42 PM UTC by chris1970*** *** Edited 5/31/2007 12:04:03 PM UTC by chris1970*** *** Edited 5/31/2007 12:04:36 PM UTC by chris1970*** *** Edited 5/31/2007 12:06:56 PM UTC by chris1970***

The condor and log flume are not done yet.Log flume expected at the end of the week and who knows on the condor.
In 09 they plan on cloning Thunderbird http://www.rcdb.com/id2955.htm
and next year a 200'drop tower.
Also the Himalaya is not running properly(forward only)evidently the motor was rewired wrong when they got it(it went only slow in reverse then)a second attempt finished it off and it only goes forward.the bumper car area is mostly for the kiddies:extreamly slow and small. Sidewinder and eldiablo are great rides.
The last time I was at the park they had changed the program on eldiablo to make it a longer ride. The landscaping is coming along well, with grass and flowers added to several areas and the park is kept extreamly clean.Oh and smoking in designated areas only.If you have kids Id call and check the height requirements , as they just changed the crazy mouse height to 55" and I dont think they have updated the website yet.
