Anybody get Soaked! yet?

Bought it, played it, cried, took it back.

Bought a Meatball and Cheese sub with the money instead.

Much more satisfaction and happier memories.

mmm...sub

Don't get it till they get the patch...I bought it...it worked for all of 36 hours, then it started crashing out in the middle of the game. SO i perform a total install....only problem is that the damn soaked expansion is stuck on my machine...no uninstall program with it. I deleted every ****in RCT 3 file on my computer and yet...soaked is still installed! I've spent 4 hours on this...I am mad! I reinstalled this thing 8 times!

Edited to clean up my language, and to make myself sound less like an idiot. ;) *** Edited 7/2/2005 5:38:33 AM UTC by Kyle Fobe***

Kyle Says: Diamondback was a lot of fun! Made his first time at Kings Island worth it all!

Its not all mediocre, the giant Frisbee is great and some other stuff is fine too, but its all so uncreative!

There is nothing you can really do with all those new fllats.

What the game needs now is a re thinking of the coaster designing. They did nothing to evolve the coaster building in this otherwise brilliant game. I get the feeling that coasters (and entertaining gameplay) were sadly neglected after RCT2 (there is actually a de-evolution in RCT3 imo).

I totally agree that the coasters have not had the attention some of the other things have in the game. Which is unfortunate and should be addressed. But I wouldn't say the things in Soaked are uncreative. Basically that's where you come in. You are given some building blocks and it's up to you to put them together creatively. I've seen quite a few creative things already in the Atari forum. And expect to see a whole lot more.

And yeah...the giant Frisbie thing is WAY cool. It looks especially good high in the sky at sunset. I have some nice pictures of that from one of my parks. It looks great. I will never use the smaller similar ride ever again.

As for people having slower performance problems....from the post I have read it seems like far more people online have noticed an improvement then a degradation, so my suggestion would be for those people to post in the Atari RCT3 technical help forum and get Michael Brooks from Frontier to help you.

Hmmm. Not sure why you guys don't like the Soaked game...they are really not calling it an exspansion...therefore as I have posted before they have RCT3-Exspansion 2 coming out in 10/25/05. I think Soaked was just add-on rather than a exspansion....Anyway on to Soaked....I love it..being able to build massive pool areas, waterfalls, and also the Soaker Coaster. I actually get a better frame rate with the add-on they have also betetr specs to make the quality better as well as the performance. I know some of you don;t like it but I think it is a cool add-on and makes the park building a little fun. I have to agree now when I load a park I don;t see the lag I used to see...but maybe that is the fact I just put in a new ATI Radeon 9800...but I am going to get the Nvidia 7800....I looked at some sits and on the views of this card and it is going to be the TOP DOG!!!!!! *** Edited 7/4/2005 4:03:07 PM UTC by Evolution*** *** Edited 7/4/2005 4:03:59 PM UTC by Evolution***
It expanded the coaster types and the game play. Scenery was expanded, flat rides were expaneded, everything was expanded.

Expansion indeed.

after abou 20 minutes of playing I get large black shadows that start to fill up the screen. afte another 10 minutes my whole screen is black.

And this is with a high-end computer/videocard

Do you have an LCD or Plasma screen? If you do just try unplugging the power cord out of the back of the moniter and plugging it back in. Mine does the same thing.

i'm not sure what to put here..

Planning on writing my list of goods/bads on Tuesday and/or Wed., but one thing I noticed playing today is that the Stormrunner coaster actually has a realistic rollback. If it doesn't make it up, once the train gets back down to the launch track it starts to slow down, then comes to a stop right before the station. Then it launches again.

Just thought that was kinda cool.

Personally I like the new expansion. The waterparks are pretty sweet. You can save them with all of the waterpark stuff. Like slides and every little pool connected. So basicly you can save the whole complex. The waterfalls are harder to get than i thought. ;)

i'm not sure what to put here..

Hey corkscrewy, I'm sorry i didn't send that coaster yesterday, i will send it tomarrow.

You can't judge a book by it's cover but you can judge a coaster by the screams
I won't be here tomorow. I'm leaving for 3 days, so it won't be on right away.

i'm not sure what to put here..

Use of the CTRL button to build roof pieces is back!

And you can save scenery with track designs.

Pity lag is still an issue in a filled park.

Wow...are you serious, you can save the buildings with the coaster now? It was one of my favorite features in RCT2.
