Anybody else miss the original?

I remember staying over night at my friends house 4 nights a week in the summer. And we play it for hours and hours. We were so happy when we got a "River Rapids".

We made up cool designs, had fun, and beat scenerios.

Even though RCT2 is much more "advanced" I still miss the originality of the first game. Its come a long way but the original was still great and sorta fun withOUT the trainers.

Anyone feel the same way I do?

Nope.....

LOL...well actually I have never played a scenario. I just use RCT to fulfill my fantasies in building my own park. RCTII was just what the doctor ordered

When I first played the original, it was probably the most amazing PC game I have ever come across (well, it tied in with this hobby). With RCTII, I did not get that "feeling" like I did when I first played RCT I over and over again. It was just a less excited, less "into it" feeling. I wish I could relive those RCT I days.
^ That is how I feel. Roller Coaster Tycoon was deffinatly part why I became an enthuiast.
I remember when I built my first successfully operating and popular coaster in the original RCT. It was a wooden coaster that just looked so awesome. It was just so much more fun at that time. Not that I don't enjoy RCT 2 just the novelty is gone.
I still love this game. I have an Arid Heights park with 23 custom designed rollercoasters in it. Most of them are over 3000 ft. long. It has superhero land, ice land, country fair, and Roman adventures themed sections. I go back to the game mostly to play the scenarios( they are so much better than the RCT2 scenarios and there so many more).

Oh, and I have the coolest SFOG recreation.

I still think RCT is the greatest game ever made for the pc. Th efirst day I had my computer I went out and bought it and played for three hours straight. That game was great.

All who think Mean Streak needs a match taken to it say I.

I look back on the original and think it looks so unrealistic and worse than RCT2. But it was a lot of fun at the time when I didn't know about the sequel - just discovering the game was cool. Maybe if RCT2 was a lot more different than the original, it would be more fun too.
