I see as many females riding coasters at SFGAdv as males, so shouldn't the population of Coasterbuzz be roughly the same??? Don't know, but I'm one.

Well, if the demographics of CoasterBuzz strictly matched the demographics of amusement parks, then sure, you MAY see more women.

But CoasterBuzz is an interesting cross-section. You're taking a slice of the population that's

a) VERY interested in coasters, moreso than the casual "hey, let's go to Six Flags this weekend" crowd, and

b) computer users

For whatever reason, that combo is still primarily male-dominated.

Very true Greg but,you have to give those of us women who actually post here some credit because it is a male driven sight and,well,forget what i was going to say next because i don't want to ruffle any testosterone feathers around here :) .I am just going to say thanks again to all those who are civil enough to give me a wealth of coaster info and insight.

My wife - Mrs. DEK - is an avid coaster enthusiast (probably more than I am) and a member of CoasterBuzz. In fact, her count is higher than mine.

If you want the real demo information, it's 70/30. That's more women than most coaster sites who have done the research.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I certainly wasn't making any comments about the women who DO post, I was merely pointing out that there ARE more men than women here, and looking at the crowds at a park doesn't give you the correct sample set to figure the ratio out.



70/30 is very impressive, actually.
