Any Steel Duel coasters? (racers)

I have ridden a few wooden duel train coasters and was wondering, is there any Steel Racing coasters?

I know that the Gemini at Cedar Point is a steel tracked / wood base coaster, but I am curious is there are any fully steel costers (i.e. standup, flyers, etc etc.)

The most famous and obvious is Fire & Ice... "Deuling Dragons" at Universal Studios in Orlando.

I know there is at least one in Japan (i'm thinking of that togo one if anyone can pin it down. is one side stand up and one side sitdown?)

Deuling Dragons isn't a racer but its somewhat the same idea. Um, let me think. There's that lethal weapon ride in europe that was built by Intiman. You might want to check RCDB for that one. And there's another Intiman ride in south america somewhere that was never finished or something, i don't remember exactly, but I'm sure someone could point that one out to you on RCDB, too.

If the shoe fits, find another one.

Windjammer, until this year. Also, there's the steeplechase coasters at various parks (BPP?).

Isn't BPPB's the only steeplechase?

Fujin Rajin in Japan is a steel racing coaster. One side is a standup, and I think the other is sitdown.

Daidarasaurus USED to be a racing coaster, but was conjoined at the hip in late '98 and now is the longest mobius coaster in the world. It is at Expoland in Suita City, Japan. What is really interesting is the fact that the TOGO standup at Expoland is called Fujin Raijin II and yet it was built years before Fujin Raijin at Mitsui Greenland. I just went to the Mitsui website, and it looks like both sides are standups. I'll tell you what.... after looking at those pics, it's time for a trip. Talk about theming....:)

Now this is a great website!

Hey

Theres Fujin Rajin at Mitsui Greenland in Japan which is strictly dueling but does feature racing sections. Contary to the post abov both sides are stand-up

Diadasauraus (sp?) at Expoland in Japan used to be one. built by Sansei in the 70's the ride was recently onverted to run once round both tracks so its now 1 long long coaster.

Vertigorama at Parque Del Ciuased (sp? again) in argentina was a Giovanola/Intamin racing coaster than never opened due to legal problems with the park. But it still stands and probably with some work can be run.

Windjammer at Knotts used to race but everyone knows what happened to that one lol. I can prolly think of some more but im about to go out on the town so ill tell u some otherday lol.

I can think of three others -- Batman and Robin: the Chiller at SFGAdv, Superman the Escape at SFMM, and Spellbreaker at Legoland California. None of them are "traditional" sit-down coasters, but they are all steel racers.

I remember seeing on John Wardly's webpage about a racer coming to a park that he themed or designed but the plans never followed through. He made an RCT recreation about the ride. It looked pretty cool.

In Argentina, they have a racing coaster, made fully of steel. It was to be called Vertigorama, but never operated as it wasn't completed thanks to the parks money trouble.

So what if the best coaster in Australia is a second hand Arrow?

How about Primeval Whirl at Animal Kingdom? Also there sort of is Vertigorama in Argentina thought it has never operated.

Vertigorama appears to be operating on the park's website and is listed as an open attrection. I don't have the addess here, but just copy the url and translate it with Alta Vista's translator.

Rob, I know there are at least two others. One is Speedy Bob in Belgium. http://www.rcdb.com/installationgallery918.htm?Picture=1

The other (someone mentioned above) is the new one at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Ah yes, Speedy Bob.... You gotta love that! Wasn't there also some talk about putting in dueling mice at SFMW or something like that? (where did I hear this rumor?)
