Any SFGAm construction news?

Has anyone heard anything about construction at SFGAm? I would like to see any deconstruction pics of Shockwave if anyone has them? Also, are any of the rumors about S:UF true? I can't wait till "early next year" for an announcement.

I have no pics but I heard that the whole sw ride is gone. I dont know what else is going on

So far I am suprised they haven't started construction yet, Shockwave is gone, hopefully construction starts soon so I have something to do with my life...

When I passed by on 94 Wednesday all I saw was the crane so im guessing that its all gone!

The construction question I want answered is whether the parking lot will remain under the new ride. Not much appeal to be flying over asphalt.

I have this feeeling they will tear up that area of parking lot and plant trees and scrubs with small hills. Maybe? could be.

My friend who lives in Gurnee says its all gone and as of right now they ARE tearing up the parking lot.

Now I'm not saying you're wrong, but how would your friend be able to see the parking lot from off park property?

None of the pictures on the database have been updated for a long time. I hope that landscaping is part of the construction of S:UF. What would be the point of flying through a parking lot? Also, does SF really need another Superman coaster?

I dont think the name really matters that much...it is a kick ass new roller coaster and u people r acting on the "i want" deal...be happy that we r getting a new ride!!!

Its actually very simple. They dont have the entrance right off of Grand Ave. gated. That stretch of road up to the intersection before the parking lot is a public road. You can drive right up by the gates and see what is going on with the SW site.

Someone has already done that during the v2/deja vu construction. I think it was www.weevil2.com/sfgam/ or something like that he had about 30 aerial photos.

Yeah I was just in Gurnee yesterday and Shockwave is all gone nothing left standing just a whole bunch of Shockwave track on the ground. I couldnt see if they were putting up any supports for SM:UF but I bet they will start soon.

when i was there the last day of the season nov. 3rd they were breaking out blacktop and there was a huge pile of rebar along with rebar ties and pre shaped rebar for footers. it looked like it was just delivered. this was not old rebar from the old footers. the only reason i realized what it was is because i work as a concrete labor in the non winter months.
