Any News on WCUSA?

I was going through some older posts about that gigantic theme park, WCUSA. I heard that vertical construction would start in March 2002, and I haven't heard anything about that. And the announcement will be in January or February 2003, I can't wait! But what about the confirmed coasters? I really doubt there's gonna be a launched 4D, but the 350 foot Intamin giga and the dueling, launched, inverted coasters by B&M sound pretty neat. Anyone have any more updates on this? Chris Godsey, I'm looking in your direction!

Wild Country USA. Look it up in search. There's lots of threads about it and it's supposedly going to be like over 1,000 acres when it first opens and it'll have eight coasters right off the bat!

Long story short, the financing is in place and the land purchase is being held up because old HWY 61 has to be moved cause it cuts the land in half. MDOT is way behind on the I-55 connector and we have to wait on them to finish that before they will pave the road. The area has been surveyed and leveled, just not paved. Once the road has been moved, the land purchase will be final. Then construction and an announcement can happen. When, I dont know. All I can say is things are looking good and I am feeling much better about the success of the project than I felt about 3 months ago.

But, as a backup I have been in discussions with a theme park developer to build in the area. They are very interested in the area and a feasibility study is in progress right now.

As for the attractions, I cannot comment on them specifically, but I will say that the lineup has changed somewhat but there will still be at least 7world class attractions that will knock your socks off!

Also, some of the attractions that have been rumored are true. Now, which ones I will not say ;)

With Chris Godsey I would say its not speculation. Sounds incredibly legit to me.

At this point Cedar Point building a 400+ foot coaster is essentially fact.

I'll believe that, when I see it: the 400+ footer to CP.

It would be funy if they built a ride like Superman: THe Escape at SFMM that's taller to just get in Magic Mountain's face.

Well, I realize that Jeff, but that post has literally exploded with thoughts of dueling/racing tera-coaster grandeur. I think its hillarious to see the opinions of people out there.

Its also amazing to see how easy the talk switches from Mississippi to Ohio :p (yes, I realized it was I who did it this time.. my bad!)

I don't understand Jeff, you always said those who talk don't know, those who don't talk know... How do you get away with dropping info like that... even most recently, I remember getting in trouble for spreading a false rumor, based on what the Cedar Point plan was to cover up the new ride. Sigh, one of these days I won't care about respect from online-nobodys, but darned if I'm 16 now and live for it.
