Any news on the CF/ SF deal?

I've been out of the country and was waiting to hear the news Cedar Fair promised after the deal closed on April 1, 2004. But since I've been back, I've found NOTHING! If anyone has found any info, names, updates, PHOTOS, ect. help us out! I hope everyone is as excited as I am about May 1!
Cedar Fair was aiming for April 1 but I do not believe it was actually promised. The deal will close in time. $145 million between two publicly traded companies may take a little longer then expected. Things are moving ahead at the park, season pass information will be available soon.

I wouldn't be suprised since no on ride training has taken place nor have the Cedar Fair orientations. *** Edited 4/6/2004 9:07:38 PM UTC by Goliath Freak***

Word is that the park won't be open/reday on May 1st, their scheduled opening.

Not what I had heard yesterday. Basically just chillout and wait man, theres more important things to waste stress over.

I'm no genious but I'd think the first place to look would be on the CB news page. If nothing has been posted in the last few weeks my guess is that there isn't any news yet. If there was an announcement you'd find a rather large discussion happening.

But what do I know?

When it's known, we will know.

And, conversely, we won't know before it's known.

PS - in case anyone is wondering I deleted the thread myself.

CF will hold up the deal, then drop the deal back on SFI at the last second, preventing SFWoA from even opening at all this season...("there, that should FINISH them, muwahahaha").

CP turns out the big winner with no competition for the northern Ohio market....and Six Flags Geauga Worlds of Ohio Adventure Lake becomes "the next Old Indiana" of the SFI chain.

Thinking of it this way means that WHATEVER results, you'll not be disappointed...;)

The good news for ME is that SFoG gets S:UE....but the ride gets re-named....V2.2...:)

I don't think that scenario will play out. Even if the deal does not go through, the park can still open and SF can salvage something. This park will not just sit idle. Cedar point will purchase or SF will open it this year.

Guess I coulda put a few more of ;) in there....it wasn't intended to be "predicitve", more *comedic*.....and it failed, apparently...:(

:)

rgw: *MENTAL NOTE* - when people tell you "You're Funny", that doesnt mean they think you have comedic value...they mean they think you are weird. :)

So it was Bill who cut Zach from Dream Job?? :)

(a little inside joke from PTI for those who watch)

I think you got that backwards....I could be Wilbon to YOUR Kornheiser.....sure the skin tones would be confusing, and I would NEVER shave my head....but I'm the good-looking one....;)

bill, "the white Charlie Murphy"....;)

Ahh... Leave Mr. Tony out of this please? I miss him so much on the radio! :(
Me too. Why did he have to go(management). Anyways, how did we get this far of topic, oh well look, don't worry the deal will be done and it will open before long.

There is nothing that clenses your soul like getting the S*** kicked out of you.

Woody Hayes

You being the better looking one is moot (debatable), but I'm definitely *younger* and *from the midwest* and you are *an old fart* and *from the east coast*.

Plus I would never be stupid enough to say that Emmitt Smith is the best running back since Jim Brown (no Mr. Long Island, that would be Walter Payton!)

ROFL, jeremy....you're a hoot, and I would LOVE to do a PTI wit' ya...:)

P.S. Emmitt, from Escambia County AND from UF....is at least the best running back SINCE Sweetness....apologies to the Sanders guy, he just didn't stick around long enough...;)

As for me being the better-looking one, I figured it was *understood* that that was a joke...heck, I even included one of these..;)

Back *towards* the topic....I do *still* want an Intamin launch of SOME kind here in the Southeast...not that I'm ungrateful for the Vekoma and Beema launches we HAVE...they're just not that intense...

PTI in my opinion is now the best sports show for opinionated commentary. I used to watch alot of MSG Talk of Our Town but that got cut.

But back to topic..

We will all know whats going down with this deal when the info is released...

That's ram-a-lam-a-ham-dam ;).

I wouldn't expect the wait to be much longer. I really don't think Cedar Fair would offer Six Flags $145 Million, say the deal is going down, and just back out, although I am no business expert. You would have thought the deal was finalized when Six Flags' stock price skyrocketed...

Okay josh, you got me, I *never* watched a day of Dream Job. I just caught the SportsCenter the day after he got cut and heard him do the ram-a...(whatever). And the real SC guy (D.Patrick I think) made a special note of it, so I just assumed it was his usual catch phrase.

And believe you me, the SF/CF deal *will* go through...Patience "Daniel-san"
