I know Peabody is in , or recently was in, Japan and I wondered if he or anyone else has yet to ride Dodonpa. Let us know...!

"Get off of my moor you michtevous weeins." We prefer to stay" (eyes begin glowing) "Your thinking of hurting us." "Now your thinking, how did they know what I was thinking?" " But now your thinking, I hope that's Shepards Pie in my knickers"
Hasn't everyone heard, Dodonpa's opening day has been pushed back to some time in 2002. Check it out at http://www.rcdb.com

Really???? What a tragedy! Oh man...I feel sorry for Peabody. He was totally in heaven KNOWING he was going to ride that thing.

I just checked RCDB. It doesn't say it IS going to be pushed back. He is suggesting that the ride might be pushed back, perhaps via rumor, or so he has heard. I guess I will have to wait and just ride the thing myself! HA:)

Lol. I'm not surprised as S&S haven't worked out Hypersonic's problems yet.

Can you read Japanese? Or is your wife better than you? See if there is anything on the Fujikyu Highland site regarding Dodonpa; www.fujikyu.co.jp/fuji-q.html

BTW, that's Fujiyama on the main page. Looks pretty cool for a TOGO ;).
Fujiyama apears to use the same trains as Viper, but without the horsecollars.

Taipan,

I have been to Fujikyu. Yes, Fujiyama ROCKS and it is so smooth, regardless of it being a TOGO. I have been keeping tabs on the website, and yes I can read most Katakana, and Hiragana, so I can find the 'keywords', if you will. I have yet to see anything on Dodonpa. I wonder if they don't want us to know anything until it's done? The Japanese do like to surprise us with their coasters. I haven't been able to see any construction photos as of late either. I only saw the older ones about halfway through the buildout. If you can find anything on any other site, let me know.

Really? Fujiyama looks like fun, plus it has no OTSRs. TOGO's 'spine crusher' OSTRs as on Manhattan Express (only one I've been on) are the worst. More so as I'm 6'2"! :).

I don't think the US will buy anymore ;). Though after what you said, perhaps a Hyper would've been sucessful. Then again I live down under & what the US gets doesn't change anything here. Only it makes our coaster collection look more miserable every year :(:).

You only saw the half-completed photos? On this site are the completed photos including a train sitting on the track BACKWARDS!?! www.asovini.com/screamer/index.html Click on english (or japanese) then Dodonpa Photo Report. This site has movies of Japanese coasters.

I have been to that site although I haven't been lately. Perhaps it's time for a review...Thanks!
