does Anyone know if there are any custom Vekoma-SLC's?? If there are where can they be found? Anyone ride one? Are they better than the norm? Got any pics? Some stats?
Well...just curious!

There's one called Mad Cobra I believe, but I don't recall the location. It's not that much different from the others though, I think it may just have an extra helix.

I talk to the Vekoma engineers of the Flying Dutchmen everyday at work. One day I asked them if they will build custom layouts of the Flying Dutchmen. They said no unless a park asks them specifically for a custom layout. As they are expensive for them to do. They rather just design one good design and sell it for less. Which was the case for the SLC. They never intended to make custom layouts unless asked too.

Serial Thriller @ SFWOA is like 15 feet taller than the rest--it was never supposed to be 140', but it was supposed to feature 2 vertical loops, when first announced, and it STILL reads that on the official sites description.

Well, that's how it works with any designer. They build what the parks tell them to build, and if the park wants a clone, they build it for them.

Odyssey plan; www.geocities.com/andrewshakespeare/odysseyplan.jpg Note it's intertwined with the park's other coaster - Millenium Coaster (Vekoma). I can't remember where I found this photo, but they said that it may not be a Hyper SLC after all as the height measurements *may be* set off sea level, not ground level.

Yup, I remember ST was supposed to have 7 inversions - a SLC with two extra loops thrown in.
