Any British members?

Not yet nacho985, on Saturday but ive been on exactly the same at Six Flags Holland and it was very good, but i'm a big spin n' spew fan!
My name is Nicola and I live in Edinburgh with another coaster freak called Morag. We have very little coaster experience in Britain but we're going to work on that this summer. We fell in love with coasters last summer while working in SFNE. Coasterbuzz is a valuble source of info for me as I am painting coasters for my degree show at art college and I visit the site most days.
Thanks all!

You guys are all a bunch of Katsup eating fishstick loving pukes. Yes I'm jealous... You all live about 3000 miles closer to Blackpool and Alton Towers than I'll ever be... BOOOOO HISSSS!

I live in Mansfield, north of Nottingham. My home park is American Adventure (oh well, you can't have everything). The UK coaster scene will get far more exciting next year when Odyssey, "Atlantis" and AIR all open!

Chessington-4hrs

A real shame they closed Skytrack at the Granada Studio tours cause I could walk to that in 5 mins!!
Hello! Im in a small village, about 15 minutes from Great Yarmouth in sunny Norfolk (and no I'm not a farmer ;) )

My nearest park is New Pleasurewood Hills- one of the Uks best kept secrets- three fun coasters, a unique flat ride -Megaspin and loads more of the usual. Not forgetting the fab park mascot Woody Bear :)
Greeting from the USA! While alot of "Ugly Americans" are upset by the MANY new coasters (and types of coasters) on your continent, I'm kinda happy that all these European companies (B&M, Intamin, Vekoma) are starting to return Europe to the NEW GOLDEN AGE. Sometime in the next year or two, I'll get to the other side of the lake, and I want some cb'ers to show my some nice coasters and parks....

rollergator - intent on improving the "guest experience" - coming soon to a park near you
I'm a UK based coaster bunny (incase you hadn't guessed m,y my endless goings on about Nemesis and Oblivion(!)).
Alton is my home park (40mins away, 30 if youi hammer the country roads). And I LOVE it.

Until recently there hasn't been too much to see of SW5, just a big hole with some concrete and other holes for footers. A couple of trenches, but I know that earlier this weeks some of the motors for the station arrived, so, metalwork of interest (ie, other than the station) will be there soon!

"'cos you know, it's strange! You stand in a library and go "AAAAARRRRGGGHHHH" and everyone just kinda stares at you, but if you do the same thing on a aeroplane everyone joins in!"
I was born in Livingstone Scotland and I lived in troon until I was 8, where I moved to brasil for 4 years then to the great USA where I have lived all my adult life. I consider myself scottish but their is nothing I would not do for this country (USA), it has done so much for me and my family.
I served 5 years in the US army and I would do it all over again.

Not sure if this was answered, but the mini Reel is at Joyland, Great Yarmouth.

There are some good overall parks in the UK, plus some with one or two interesting rides.  To someone planning a 2002 UK trip, I'd recommend:

Alton Towers - 3 B&Ms

Thorpe Park - Intamin 10-looper with bunny hops too

Oakwood - CCI woodie

Blackpool Pleasure Beach - 5 woodies, plus loads of classic dark rides

Fantasy Island - 2 large custom Vekoma looping coasters

If you like really old coasters, Dreamland at Margate has a wooden scenic railway built in 1920, and it's a good ride too, better than the one at Great Yarmouth, I have to be honest.

im Engish..i lived near Manchester til 1994, when i was 11, then i moved over to California in November of 94..I rode the Missile @ American Adventure before i moved, but the only time i went to Alton Towers was when i was 5 or 6, and at that time, was too small to ride the then BIG ride, Corkscrew =)
