Have you ever waited so long and wanted something so much that only when your rode it/bought it/ saw it, you were totally let down. This isn't a bashing/flaming thread so please don't start it. One example I can think of FOR ME is Tomb Raider. It was fun overall but I guess I expected it to be longer. Oh well. What about any of you?

I was extremely let down by Invertigo and Stealth. Waited 2 hours for Invertigo on opening day and just when we got up to the boarding platform it broke down. What's worst? Invertigo has been down 10 out of my 12 visits to PGA while it was there. The only opening day ride that hasn't let me down at all was Roar WEST!!! I never heard the end of it, 82 rides on that monsters and when I go out to California this summer(11 minutes driving distance from the park) my grandma told me that she bought me a season pass. You gotta' love grandparents, my grandpa is the only one I've ever got to go on Medusa with me and he has heart trouble(that's pretty sad:sisters, mother, daddy, friends, pastor, and deacons wont go on it with you but grandpa will)

Lake Compounce-So Fresh and So Clean Clean
Another Tomb Raider story:
It's opening day and I got there at 4 and there was NO ONE there. My heart paced and I waited to get through the check line(for passes and tickets) and got through about 6th at 4:45. We got a spiel from Officer Steve that we had to walk behind him single file back there, but right when he dropped the rail we had running of the bulls. Most people took the long way down around the lake and back up butt I ran through HB land Rivertown and such. I got to the queue with about 20 people ahead and I was fine about that. So time passes the ride never opens. Eventually at 9 they tell us we can go through the queue and preshows. I was excited because I heard it was great.and I was let down, but who wouldn't be after waiting 4 hours. It was my fault for having faith.

I've had some mild disappointments from time to time but the worst for me was 2 years ago on my first ever trip to Kennywood. I had seen the TV shows and rankings showing Thunderbolt as the #1 wooden coaster in the country; so, I was very hyped to ride this coaster. It turned out to be the worst ride I've ever had on a wooden coaster. I hurt for days after and can't begin to tell you how disappointed I was and how much I wondered why this was the #1 wooden coaster at the time. To this day, I haven't ridden a wooden coaster as bad as that one.

A few:
1) Thunderbolt (Kennywood): I wouldn't call it the worst wooden coaster ride like DEK did... but one of my biggest let downs. Like DEK, I too listened to the hype for this coaster and was expecting greatness. What I found in my opinion was average at best. Truth be told, I was much more impressed the next day with Lakemont's Skyliner... wasn't expecting much and found a very fun coaster.
2) Dueling Dragons... both sides: Again, expecting greatness and found average at best. Of the 6 inverteds that I have ridden... these two are my least favorite two. I would even throw the two SLC's that I have ridden above these two. The queue line was great, but I was not there for the queue.

LONG LIVE ARROW DYNAMICS!!
Mantis was the letdown for me...and this was before they started trimming it before the loop. I wasn't uncomfortable on it, but it just didn't seem as fast or as thrilling as I'd expected. I was expecting more of a Raptor type ride while standing up.
I will still ride Mantis, but I will not wait more than 30 minutes to ride it.
