Short piece but good. Great point about SFMM looking after X without any gov't regulators getting tangled up in it all. Too often the pro-regulations folks seem to portray parks, designers, etc. as forces of evil bent on dodging responsibility and hurting as many riders as possible with little or no remorse. Common sense says that parks can look after their own rides. Mistakes will always happen, regardless of the size of the bureaucracy assigned to oversee the industry. In fact, given the efficiency of such organizations, I'd much rather know the park was taking the lead in keeping me safe than some overpaid, know-nothing bunch of feds.
