Anyways, one of my stops was Gulf Shores Amusement park, which is right off of 59. According to the manager, this is the last season for the park. GSAP has several kiddie rides including a Shiff portible coaster and a Miner Mike. (They removed their Zamplerla Dragon 3 years ago) The parks major rides include an Eli 12-tub Wheel, an Eli Scrambler, a Sellner Tilt, and a Bisch-Rocco 10-Tub Flying Scooter (yes, you read that right, a Flying Scooter) It also has a large arcade and a Go-Cart track.
The park is run down and unsafe looking, (be assured it is of course, perfectly safe) but I still loved it. It looks like an old carnival company set up 50 years ago in a parking lot and stayed there.
So, with real estate prices raising and sea-side lots becoming more valuable (i know, thats redundant) the park has decided to sell off its rides and close.
So, if your near Gulf Shores anytime soon, take a trip over to GSAP, it's fun.
Look for a detailed trip report of my Gulf-Coaster vacation coming soon
