The news from Long Island is terrible again tonight. There was another death at Adventureland. this one involved the "Top Scan" ride. A lady was thrown from the ride and landed on the windshield of a parked car in the narrow lot outside of the park.
Here is the link from 1010 WINS (New York City All News Station)
My thoughts are with everyone involved.

This is unbelievable and tragic. I extend my condolences to the affected families. I was actually there two saturdays ago after seeing my folks in Queens to finally get my credit on Hurricane (which I did) and was serioulsy thinking of riding Top Scan afterwards. That thing was insane. It is the flat ride version of X. The only thing that stopped me was not wearing my zippered cargo shorts. They seem to check the safety harnesses carefully before operation (at that time). Someone being thrown off that ride was the last thing anyone could think of. But I guess anything is possible.
You won't see me coming...

I worked at Adventureland a few summers ago when i was 17. I spent quite a few shifts working on The Hurricane, The Haunted house, and a few kiddie rides. I don't know how something like this could happen 2 times in as many days. When i worked there, the park was managed well, although some of the employees had tendency to be clowns sometimes. But this happening, is almost unimaginable to me. Check out this article about it.

Holy Cow! 2 deaths in just a few days? That's something you would expect at Disneyland!

The most interesting part about this accident is the fact that when the ride stopped the harness was closed. Also the person was mentally disabled.
My gf knows the ride op. HE was hysterical when he elft the park.
Hopefully the ride stays. This is possibly the best flat i have ever been on .
Ther ride ops controll it so if you get a ride op in a bad mood they will put it on insane mode lol
