Another CP opening day TR

Associated parks:
None

Never get your season pass processed on opening day. When we arrived at the park, there was a 3 hour wait for the season pass. Luckily, if you had a CP season pass last year, they just used your picture from last year(that line was still an hour long). Of course, I had a Michigan's Adventure season pass so my picture was not in the computer system. I eneded up buying a ticket, which made me furious. Anyway, at the end of the day I found out that CP let all of those people standing in line with a season pass certificate(ordered from the internet) into the park. I got a refund for my ticket with no hassle. The park was very courteous to me about that whole fiasco( I eneded up waiting an hour at the end of the day to get my pass).

Onto the rides.

Wicked Twister- 30 min. Great way to start off the season. The stadium looks pretty ugly just sitting there in fornt of you, but the visuals from the ride are pretty outstnading. The back is the money seat, and I enjoyed WT more than S:UE. I wasn't queasy from WT, mostly because the motion is continuous.

Magnum- 20 min. I dont know why but the station was a zoo, way too many people were being let in. I didn't notice a difference form last year, trims were still on, gave a great, fast ride.

Gemini's new station paint job is absolutely awesome, it really made a difference, in my opinion.

Mean Streak's trims were not on as hard as last year, but the midcourse really slowed you down. It really wasn't too bad, it seems every year it is getting a little better, the trims on the first drop have still got to go.

We hit the Mine Ride, which I habve not done in a long time. It was a nice way to settle the food in my stomach, got to love the one huge lap bar, no wait.

MF was down for about an hour so we hit Mantis. Mantis had about a 40 min wait and was running very fast without the trims. The ride is still intense and the ride ops are much more helpful about how to sit in the seats now.

MF is very quiet this year, but it is still running great. Two train operation was not cool, but I know that the yellow train will be up soon. I was bummed to see the logos on the fron of the trains go, I liked them. Front seat was amazing, still my favorite ride.

Iron Dragon was fine, but it would be nice to have a little padding for your lower back.

Next we hit the Cedar Downs, which I had never done, not a bad little flat ride.

Raptor only had a 20 min wait. We all forgot hoiw much we loved this ride. Running smooth and fast, aging very well.

Blue Streak is still running strong, very fast and lots of aritime, what a classic. You have to try this ride at least once a day at CP, don't let a classic die!

Disaster Transport has most pretty much all of the queue effects up and running. I don't under stand why one of the signs reads "HGIH VOLTAGE", shouldn't it say H-I-G-H voltage? I haven't ridden this ride in a while, but it was pretty fun, no voices or anything that I remember from a long time were running during the ride( does anybody remember "we're going out of control!!"?)

Finally we hit the space shot of Power Tower and Demon Drop. Every single roller coaster was great. Waits were very short and now with 15 coasters the waitsd spread out very well.

I apologize for the multiple sentence fragments and spelling errors. I'm very pooped. Have fun and I'll see you on the midways!

I arrived at CP at 8:40 AM. By 9:10 AM I had my season pass in hand. It's a good idea to arrive before they open at 9:00
Yes, if you got there before you were fine. Unfortunately, we arrived at 10:30 which is the prime time that people were coming in. I sure wish that they set up a few more computers. Only two all day.

Does anybody know what the longest wait time was for Wicked Twister throughout the entire day? Also, do they let people in the park before it oficially opens, I think I asked this before but never got a respose.
Does anyone know why the logos were not on the front of the MF trains?

Probably because they were removed for repainting or cleaning of the fronts of the trains.

Typically parks completely dismantle all trains every off season and often claen/repaint them. This usually results in the removal of the logo stickers on the front. Never fear, they will re-appear.

As a side note, many parks are moving to replace logos on trains with new ones that at least encorporate the park's name. That way, if a pic of the coaster is used in any form, people will know what park it is at...free publicity.

In this case, as I mentioned somewhere, they aren't even the same shells on the front. These are fiberglass and not the original stainless steel.

I bet the HGIH Voltage sign is intentional.. trying to play into the theme of the general imcompetence of the DISpatch mASTER service.

I was trying to figure out whether or not the sign was intended to go with the theme. I assumed it had to, becvause that is a pretty hard mistake to wait.

I believe WT's longest wait was about an hour.
