Parking dispute, sports venue, park not doing so well, high in-town property values...stop me if this sounds familiar.

Great America would be a great loss as it is the sister to SFGam. They were built at the same time and were identical at first.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing, and that was actually advertised at Great America, wasn't it? I thought I saw a scan somewhere on the web that showed it as new in 08.
I didn't read the whole article, but isn't that very similar to the dismay of Six Flags Astro World?

Problem for Cedar Fair is that they dont own the land that Great America sits on if I recall. How do they justify closing the park? Can they close it? Do they even technically own the rides? Just some off the wall thoughts.

Who said anything about closing it? There isn't any indication that the park is financially unsound either.
