Another Article on ride Safety

I am sick of hearing Fackler talk. She is just as bad as Markey.

Agreed 100%

Things not mentioned:

The water slide collapse was the result of gross rider misbehaviour. I don't know about California, but in many states the park would have had the right to sue the riders who ignored all safety rules and deliberately ignored the operators jamming a huge number of people on the slide at once causing its collapse.

The creation of decent technical rules is very time consuming. Otherwise you wind up with rules that are either unenforceable or impossible to comply with. I've seen technical rules in other businesses that required the use of non-existant equipment that would be dangerous if it did exist.

Actually I think Rides911 has a detailed report of that waterslide accident. Not only did they ignore the operator, I read one place that they either restrained or temporarily disabled the operator so they could break a school record of most riders on the slide at once. The only death mentioned in that article that has merit is the Perilous Plunge accident. I'm not sure what the final rulings were on the Drop Zone accident.

"They (the parks) don't want to be reporting whiplash, the potential brain injuries, the kinds of things that happen from the normal motion of rides, where none of them are really treatable, except in the most extreme cases." What the heck does she want? Potential brain injuries? I mean, if it's not a brain injury, just a little headache or a little bump on the head, why the heck would park need to report it? One more thing, would Fackler please shut up. If she was actually watching her kid, he wouldn't have stuck his foot out and she would love parks. They're blaming parks for stuff that isn't the parks fault. Everybody, join me in a relaxing,"Shut the heck up, Fackler."
