On April 19, (7:15 - 9:15 AM) I will once again be participating in our school district's event called "Lights On For Education." It's being held at Memorial Junior High School in Valley Stream.
As in the past, I will be highlighting my class' physics projects including ball towers, roller coasters, flat rides, simple machines and bridges.
The big draw this year will be a display of Rokenbok (about a grand worth), a marble run going over the K'nex bridges that will be about 18 feet long, and a mechanical petting zoo (featuring pigeon races).
It's great hands on fun for the kids and pre-teens.
The event is free, but there will be a couple of buckets in place to raise a few bucks for our school district's Relay for Life. (Which will help fight Cancer).
If you want to go, just show. I will be the guy running around "fixing the dam chain again and chasing loose balls."
Saturday is a regional high-school robotics tournament at Hofstra University. Sadly, I will be having oral surgery.
