Next Thursday night, (April 10) from 7:15 - 9:15 PM, my 6th grade children from two schools will be presenting thier coaster models. We will be at Memorial Junior High School on Fletcher Avenue in Valley Stream, New York. (Cafeteria B) The event runs from 7:15 PM - 9:15 PM.
This year they built the 6 ft Ferris Wheel, and we will have a few nine volt Lego trains, assorted K'nex rides, a huge Rokenbok layout and a marble run (that will twist and turn over K'nex bridges) that will be about 100 feet long. There will also be, (I hope) the Coaster Dynamix model of the scorpion.
Transporting everything from two schools to the junior high school is our biggest challenge.
If you have kids it's a nice incentive to get them to build stuff.
It's free, and open to all. Keep in mind it's an event to highlight academics and the arts in our district.
There will be a lot of kids and a family atmosphere.
