And the name of PKD's gyro drop is?

Well 2 months after PKD announced it's plans for a 305 ft intamin gyro drop for 03 the name of this "whopper of a dropper" has now been made public.

And the name of this new ride is? (drumroll please) non other than Drop Zone, yes that's right folks while we were hoping for a more original name for the new gyro it seems that PKD has chosen to use a tried and true name for it's latest attraction and even though it's not the most original name the rise itself sure will be great.

I hope to "drop in" on PKD in 03 and give this baby a spin,I also hope to take Ricochet & Triple spin for a test drive as well.

See ya'll at PKD in 2003.

That's been anounced for like a month dude.

PKD's Ricochet was a surprise hit....like the unique layout, and those turns really ARE hairpins, more like 240 than the standard 180s...the drop ride, with the LATE braking, will be "off the hook"...

I can't wait to check this out next year, as I'm a huge fan of Drop Zone at PKI and this one sounds even better.

chris, who's glad his PKD trip didn't work out this summer after all.

Drop Zone at PKI rules and it is bigger than this one so who cares
Ummm buddy, the drop is probably about 83 feet longer, with the extra 8 off drop zone, and the breaks start about 75 feet lower than Drop Zones, so it'll probably be better
Ricochet at PKD wasn't a unique layout. Nothing more than The Fly at PCW.

CsTrFrK, haven't been to PCW (the "remaining" park in the chain)....but I've been on plenty of *mices* where the air hills come at the end, where the flat portion starts out the ride, where the hairpins are 180s, and the brakes are on HARD.....perhaps "unique" isn't appropriate, but I sure liked it a whole lot better than ALL of those *mousies* put together....good ops made the line move FAST too, unusual but pleasant...

What do YOU know about rollercoasters, man. Go ride Kraken or something. ;)

Where you been man? Haven't seen ya much, you ok?

It's now college football season. The only thing that makes coasters take a back seat. This also means Rollergator is the enemy again... for 4 months.

I know enough about coasters to be dangerous! Better beware!

I'm hanging in there. I escaped from my prison (work) and am moving to Orlando!

Curse me kilts.......PKI's drop is 265 before the brakes kick in. So if PKD's drop is 75 feet longer., it would mean that it is actually 340 feet high. Does not compute!
