Anaconda @ PKD

I was looking @ pics of this Arrow Coaster and was wondering what year did its colors change. Was it originally black or originally green/red, when did this change happen and is the ride smooth.... it looks great with the tunner and mostly over water.

1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Yankee Cannonball 3. Cyclone/B:TDK

I think it was painted in 2001, either that or 2000. I found it smooth and fun, and the lake provides a nice setting. No complaints here!

TOGO!
It was re-painted in 2001. i find it a better ride to look at rather than ride. its decently smooth until after the MCB's. between the MCB's and the corkscrews, its an all out head-banging party.

#1-MF #2-S:RoS #3-WT

The ride is fine, I found it "knocking" until I started riding in the back. I had a severe distaste for it the first time I rode it, from the front seat. Just be ready for the MCBR, watch the heads of the poor shorter people in front of you, & the butterfly is good with a little planning. I didn't find it rough, to say "rough", but more taking my breathe, pushing me down a bit, although my head pretty much clears the OTSR & I'm not that tall. People are whimpy(j/k a wee little), LOL, Anaconda would be worth riding even if it was pure hell just for the way it blasts off the lift hill, almost like a launch it gets off there so quick. Once the noise of the lift's over, you are GONE.

It was repainted in 2001 as previously stated.

The ride is relativly smooth until the Butterfly element (Or the part after the Mid Course Brakes). If you just hold on tight and keep your neck stiff, you really won't bang your head at all, or maybe just a bit. I found riding near the back was pretty smooth.

As with Shockwave, those turns hurt your head, so you just gotta stick your chest out. If you try that during Anaconda, it might help.

It was first seen on the public on opening day 2001.

Does anyone else notice that we ALL can agree where the "rough spot" of the track is? I mean, it doesn't take a Hammersly to FIND the rough spots in track...(just to fix 'em)...but what I'm really getting at...finally you say, is that if we ALL know where the problem is, why can't it be FIXED....steel coasters DO replace track too....;)
RGW: I cannot answer your question. But the funnest (!) thing for me to do @ PKD is ride Anaconda with a full train (me in the back of course) and listen to the "traveling wave" of "ow ow ow ow ow..." as the riders yelp in pain as the train passes thru the butterfly. It's almost symphonic!

It looks rough on the first drop where it quickly changes direction.

I love Deja Valley. And Stunt Stall too!

Naw the first drop aint rough it's one of the best parts of the whole ride.

2Hostyl, even better...Sitting near the back, and during that part or near the end, watching there heads bob back and forth...heh

Or, when you watch a coaster show with a Impulse. The verticle tower where they hold ya, watching them all slam into the harness, thats also fun to watch. WOAH..SLAM!

Anaconda is one coaster that I've wanted to ride my whole life, no matter how rough anybody says it is!

Well, let me tell you that Anaconda is just the same grouping of Arrow elements you've ridden a hundred times on other coasters spliced together in a different way. The first drop into the "water" is cool, though.

It's too bad that the back end of the ride is so rough. Compared to other Arrow multi-loopers, the layout after the MCBR is REALLY inspired, and would be really cool if it weren't so rough...

I thought it was a fun ride but not as good as GASM.
Same here I thought it was smooth the whole ride.
