Amusment Park in Pripyat

I found a cool collection of photos of the abandoned (radioactive no-go zone) town of Pripyat in the Ukraine. It was the industrial city closest to Chernobyl. A little more then half the way thru there are some pictures of a small amusement park. There is a Ferris wheel, bumper cars and some kind of suspended ride shown. Very cool and creepy shots.

I've seen that before, and it was featured in that thing that was on History Channel (or one of the Discovery networks) about what would happen if humans suddenly disappeared. Pretty wild.

It's unfortunate what that accident did to the reputation of nuclear power, even though it's incredibly unlikely such an accident could happen in most of the rest of the developed world.
