Amusement park Christmas cards debut for the holiday season

Posted | Contributed by Mamoosh

S & D Greetings, specializing in roller coaster and amusement park greeting cards and products, announces the 2002 Holiday Collection. The collection, priced at $20.00, includes 16 greetings featuring four distinct black and white photographs touched with a splash of holiday color: a snow-bound wooden coaster, a carousel horse, a Ferris wheel and the famous Coney Island Cyclone.

Founded by roller coaster enthusiasts Matthew Sullivan and Carrie Drabek in September 2001, S & D Greetings was launched due to the overwhelming response the two received after creating Christmas cards for their own personal use.

I think thses cards as cool. Of course I'm all for the ST card. I love it.

Is that Shivering Timbers? Too bad they don't box them with just one picture per set as well.

Ooh, I know what MY cards are going to be this year...

That is indeed Shivering Timbers, glad you liked it We knew it would be a favorite. If anyone can guess what parks the Ferris wheel and carousel are in I'd be surprised.

I wish we could offer the option of buying a box of just one style but since we're starting small and testing the waters we felt it was best to keep things simple and offer the 'mixed' box. If sales are good this year [hint hint - buy a box or two!] you can be sure come next Christmas that the Timbers card - or perhaps an even better Timbers card? - should be available on its own.

Thanks!

Matthew

My guess for the Ferris Wheel is that it's Knoebels. That's the only wheel I know of with those cars and those supports.

As for the Carousel, I have no idea... But I'll say Knoebels too!

Nice job on the cards.

Thanks Arnold, but let's give Vinnie Barbarino a chance to answer this one....Freddie 'Boom Boom' Washington and Juan Epstein are *mysteriously* missing from class this Halloween....hope they bring a note from Epstein's mother, or it'll count as an unexcused absence...

edit: excellent work 'Moosh, but aren't you guys concerned about being confused with that "other" S-D group. *** This post was edited by rollergator on 10/31/2002. ***

Hey that Timbers photo looks REALLY, REALLY familiar. Do I get a cookie?

BTW, my Christmas cards last year had the ST first hill and the 125 foot Christmas Tree...could be an option for next year. Looks good, though!

[edit] No, I didn't take it...but CBuzzer Wolf did :).

I really like the Carousel shot. Fantastic. If I were you moosh I'd peddle this off to amusement park staffs to give out as X-mas cards to employees.

No Kara, you don't get a cookie. I've got the original print!

And the negative, actually.

Got my car stuck in the snow taking them, too.

Kara - if you order a box of cards I can guarantee - as in PROMISE - that you will get a cookie! Actually everyone who orders will... ;-)

Rum balls, perhaps? ;-)

Is Kara old enough to be shipped a rum ball?
