Among the first

Has anyone here been among the first to ride a new ride?

This year I'll be riding TTD on the 3rd of may a day before the park opens. It makes is so much more exciting.

Has anyone been a VIP or at a company day for a new ride before the public?

-Kevin

I did Jurassic Park @ USH a week before anyone else, same goes for Deja Vu @ SFMM. And I'll be riding Scream this Thursday :)
I rode La Via Volta (Boomerang) and Superman The Ride (LSM) at Six Flags Holland before the very first opening of the park.

I also rode Werewolf (Wood) and Cobra (Boomerang) before the opening of Six Flags Belgium.

I was the first official guest to experience PandaDroom. There are some more rides I've been on before or just after they opened, but I don't really keep track.

Dutch Coastin' :: European coasters, thrills and theming!

I was at the first initial rider testing of Superman Krypton Coaster at SFFT. I was on the 3rd train ever than went around with riders on it.

Yes, the rumors are true. I am building a record breaking backyard roller coaster.

While I've been there for opening day of Cheetah, and the ACE/FLCC opening of DBH, the coaster I'm most proud to be among the first to ride was the re-opened Screechin' Eagle....we dared to FLY!

I guess it all depends on how you define "among." Anyone who attends a media day is "among the first" to ride, despite the fact others have ridden before. Heck, if you consider a coaster like Coney's Cyclone, which has been around for 76 years, anyone who rode it in the first year of operation was "among the first" to ride.

Cast a wide enough net, you'll be able to make the claim.

OMG - have you seen this amazing Paramount Parks news?

My wife and I were the first two people to "experience" Alien Encounter when it opened at MK. We waited at the entrance for over 4 hours with a group of people. I had read that it was to open that day but several employees said that it was only testing and that we were wasting our time. Then a friendly employee told us that they just didn't want a huge group of people outside, so we waited and finally they let us in as the first two members of the GP to ride.

I will be there for TTD, but I am not sure which day other than it will be before the park opens.
The Park opens on the 4th, the 3rd is a privite event closed to the public, thats were I'll be It is the Longenburger Family Fun Day, for employiees and their families.

They have it every year. A few years ago there was a Ohio AAA day on the day before that, but they arn't doing it this year.

Me too. ;)

I went on a preview day for Disney's California Adventure in 2001, a few days before it opened. It was by far the most crowded I have ever seen it.

Did X on media day. 5 rides with minimal waits. Considering what has happened since then, that was a great day!

I was among the first to ride Knott's VertiGo. Free rides on the best attraction S&S has ever created. Doesn't get any better than that!

The Trip: CP, SFWoA, PKI, KW, HW, IB, SFGAm, MiA and LeSourdsville too.
