Americana update, Like new Eagle and a Zipper!

Stopped by the park today and what was a few guys on the second hill of Screechin Eagle a couple weeks ago has become a full fledged work crew that is retracking the entire first and second hills.

I asked a workman comming back from lunch if he knew anything about the parks opening and he had just heard that they open in June which confirms what the other guy said two weeks ago.

There was also a trailer model ZIPPER in the parking lot which Americana did not have when it closed. I noticed what could be the removal of Calypso, I am not certain of this, Either it is being taken down or rehabed. I prefer the latter!

All signs point to the park opening, I don't think this kinda money is spent not too!

Chuck, who will let you know if a schedual ever comes out :)

Americana is opening in 2002 and needs your support as many company picnics are already schedualed for someplace else, Indivdual visits are very improtant to the parks survival.

I prefer a Calypso to a Zipper but as long as the park opens I'm happy!

I was reading somewhere that Americana's Calypso was in really poor condition. It probably is going to be removed for good.

Do any other permanent amusement parks have a Zipper? I've only seem them at carnivals.

Americana's Calypso ran slower than a kiddie motorcycle ride. :) It was truly depressing...hopefully this Zipper is joining the lineup for good (not that I'm riding it!).

Any news of Americana opening this year is great to hear! The Screechin' Eagle is a treasure and not to be missed...a must ride for the summer!
