Americana to open in 2002??? Could it be true???

Is it true that Americana Amusement Park is to reopen in 2002?? This great little family park located near Dayton Ohio has been closed for the past few years and it looks like it may once again begin to regain some of its old glory. According to the unofficial web site, It is scheduled to open this year, but I have heard no official confirmation. http://www.americanaamusementpark.com/indexa.html

Why hasn't it been announced in any local papers? Dayton, Columbus, or Cincinnati have had no info on it yet. You would think that the news would spread rather quickly. Just curious.

Actually, nothing has officially been announced regarding the reopening of the park. The current owners are in talk regarding the opening, but they haven't said anything official.

I can't make it but there is a event at the butler county historical society comming in early March. I do have friends going and possibly more info will be revieled then.
I posted this info early last week. It is all un-official but I hope it is true. I imagine the fact that the papers havn't said anything yet is because they have no facts.

I guess that a currently maintained official web-site that states the park WILL open this year isnt official enough? How much more do you need? "Americana to open in 2002". The only official announcement to come is the ACTUAL date that it will open.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. When Americana opens, I would love to see each and every enthusiast make an effort to be there opening day. It should be a weekend, so it shouldn't conflict with schedules. Look at our wonderful memories of that place. Then look at all those who never took the opportunity to go. Sure Kings Island is great, but you can at least take one day out of the year for an outstanding John Miller classic! Americana is a wonderful alternative to the typical hyped-up zillion dollar playground, and it's nice to beat the crowds once in awhile.
