American holidays. when?

Im from england and my family are meant to be visiting los angeles. Can any one tell me if the Americans are at school from monday 3rd june till friday 7th june? Or when the holidays are around that time. Thanks

Most schools are still in session the first week of June. The closest holiday is Memorial Day, which falls on the last Monday in May (May 27 this year).

So...if you are planning to hit the parks out that way (SFMM, Knotts) I would think this would be a good time.

Man, MagnumForce.......I don't know what part of the country you're from......but where I went to school in Massachusetts our last day of school wasn't until around June 17 or so. Sometimes later if we went over our alloted amount of snow days that winter!

Also, here in Florida and in other Southern states.....kids get out of school in May and go back in August.

I am from NW Ohio/SE Mich

We Occasionaly we would go to the next week but were almost always out by the 7th.

If not the 7th the 10th at the latest. And that would include snow days. My Girlfriends birthday is June 7th and that gives me perspective as to when we got out of school. Even if that was 5 years ago.

Also we always started in August.

well my last day of school is May 30th. And it's a high school. And I live in Illinois, 15 minutes from SFGAm.

MagnumForce, I live in SE Michigan and our school district always starts in August, the week before Labor Day, and never lets out before the second week in June. As a season passholder at CP, I've found the crowds at CP to be moderately light the first week in June, unless it's Band Day.

Yeah ALF, but I'll bet you do not go to a public school. I went to a private High School in Illinois (Luther High School South) and our last day of *school* was usually in the last week of May (final exams stretched *just* into the 1st week of June). For example, senior year, the last final for underclassmen (senoirs got to take exams early) was on June 2nd. Our prom was June 4th and graduation was June 6th (of course on the 5th all the seniors either went to Great America or Wisconsin Dells :)).

But in contrast, my public school cronies did not complete school until mid June and their graduation was somewhere around June 24th. But they didnt start school until after Labor Day whereas we started the 3rd week of August!

Here you go: I live in Southern California and my last day of school is June 18th.

Even though the colleges will be out, they will be the only ones. If you plan on hitting theme parks during the week, you will have very minimal waits or walk ons.
