American Eagle backwards permanently?

Has anyone heard if American Eagle will be backwards permanently?

I love this ride backwards. After riding it backwards, it kicks butt. People who ride it forward and never ride it backwards, they don't know what they are missing.

Pretty sure it was a year-long *experiment*, and that the park would decide what to do based on the *results*. So far, the only thing we KNOW about it is that there was a lawsuit involving Eagle....not what I'd call a *hopeful sign*...
I think they are going to run it sideways next year.

I'll just say I didn't feel too good after getting off it. Thank god it was the last ride I went on, cause my head hurt so bad.

You aren't serious are you? If you are being sarcastic, please dont make fun of me for not realizing the obvious because it is definetly possible. After all, thats how the first switchback railways went.

Tear it down.

I am definitely being sarcastic.

jkpark, I think what you mean is, TAER IT DOWN

Can't they just HANG the trains from the track and turn Eagle into the world's only suspended woodie? Now THAT is obvious sarcasm...I *hope*...;)
Actually, they are going to run it backwards, as in, the train will go backwards out of the station and the ride will end by going down the lift hill.

Thanks Rollergator! I just thought of something. -Or maybe it has already been thought of. How about taking a B&M inverted coaster, and put the trains on backwards?

I think they should put AE racing forward again. Great idea jpark! I think they should race RB backwards. It might gain them publicity. The only coaster of it's kind in the world...BACKWARDS! :)
They should make the forward train backward and the backwards train forward. It'd be a whole new experience!

Seriously I think they should keep the blue train backwards permanently. It was such a fun ride and means so much more now that it is backwards. Does anyone know anything about the lawsuit?

REALLY?? WHEN??

in the words of Arrow Guy "A backwards inverted would hurt like hell"

Try the last seat of "wicked twister" and you'll find out why.

Den and jpark: if u don't care about something, don't click on the topic.

B&M Guy,

FOR YOUR INFORMATION, THIS TOPIC DID INTEREST ME AND DEN. THERE NEEDS TO BE SOME IMPROVEMENTS WITH THE EAGLE.

P.S.~THE LAST SEAT OF WICKED TWISTER FEELS GOOD! lol

jkpark- Thanks for the yelling. Your point will get across the same way I am typing right now. There is no need for yelling.

Okay, you all... getting back on topic....

I can not speak at all for what they are going to do with the Eagle, but I can show you their track record. The American Eagle went backwards twice before (and I think it was the blue train both times, but I'm not positive), in 1990 and 1997. In 1990 it went bachwards the entire year, while it only went rode that way through May or so for 97. In all three instances, as far as I can tell, it was a success, with nearly everyone who experienced it praising it to the skies. Yet, both times we have a record for, they returned the train to the forward position. Draw your own conclusions.

On the other hand, they actually cut out a (admittedlly small) piece of the wall next to the que enterance for a sign that indicated whether the forward side was running or not this year. Perhaps that bodes a little better for backwards.

SFoG did this "Gimmick" with the Great American Scream Machine back in I think 95? Quote me if I'm wrong, but the ride was suffering from low ridership at the time. After that it got a retracking and has been runing well since (kinna rough some days, but not unbreable).

Now however it's atendance is as healthy as ever. It always has a long wait then Ninja (but if you have rode Ninja you know why. and it was running rough a few times this season but not too bad). Maybe do a retrack and repaint on AE and it'll be ok for a few years.

What lawsuit? What's it over?
