America Eagle BACKWARDS!

How many have Been there and been able to ride it backwards. I would have to say Its a lot better then forwards. Just to funny when racing the other car when there going forwards.
I prefer the Red side forwards. The novalty has taken it's course for me. The red side is superiour IMO do to the greater amount of airtime.
IMO, I think Blue is better. I used to love it, but last time I rode it along with Red on Wed., it just wasn't the same. It seemed slower and less rough. It is of course still a great ride, though.
I love the blue side. The whole effect of just being backwards is awesome. When you put your hands up on the first drop its amazing! I just like how you dont really know whats gonna happen next. I know when another hill is coming up but some things are just a surprise. I just think that the only bad thing is that the effect of headchoppers is mush less.

Clear for launch............. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!

I agree backwards is better.
I personally also like the backward aslo! When you are going down the 1st drop you never really know when you are going to start going back up the next hill! It is more of a surprise!

Top 3 favorite coasters I have ridden on:
1. Millennium Force
2. Superman U F
3. Raging Bull

I like the blue side, but I would prefer it ran forwards. I don't like the backwards gimmick.

It's not a gimmick, I think it's perfect like this. You have your choise of forwards or backwards, and since the red has the inside of the helix, it almost always wins, so this adds some extra pizzaz to blue.

A great way to run a great old ride!

I definitely prefer the Blue Side, Backwards, and particularly in the front seat (technically the last seat I guess?)

I really find it interesting to watch the track come out from underneath directly where you are sitting.

I rode the red side forwards on 6/15 and found the trims to be extremely annoying.

Either side in either direction is a blast though, I find it hard to believe that this coaster will be going anywhere in the next several years as has been rumoured several times before (by posters here). You never know what the future holds though, if someone would have told me a couple of years ago that Shockwave was going to be dismantled and replaced I wouldn't have thought it to be likely either!

I had never been to SFGAm until last year and it was the first year that there was a backwards train being run. I rode it backwards, and then forwards, and could easily say that hands down racing backwards on AE is one of the best wooden coaster experiences you can have.
This year was the first time that I ever went to SFGAm. I loved going backwards. The blue side was the only one running the day that I visited, so I can not say one side is better than the other, but it was the first time that I rode a coaster backwards and I loved it.

Lets go Drag racing.

Coasterzak:

Last year wasnt the first year they were running it backwards. they have done it for the past id say 8 years during fright fest some times. Cause i remember doing it when i was younger and I still think it is a thrill today

Here's my $0.02, I would appreciate if the park would run BOTH sides when it opens and continue to do so until they close. Instead they always close 1 side early. Mechanical and/or staffing issues aside, please keep both sides running as this is one of my favorite rides!
