People relentlessly bashed Frontier for reskinning rides for the expansions, but treated this guy like a hero for doing the same thing...and his had god awful file sizes that added a ton of unnecessary weight to the overall park file size.
So basically, I stand by the comments I made in the thread ghostrider linked to. :)
Anyway, glad to see he's back. I know a lot of RCT fans loved his work. And besides, I missed that sexy mustache!
Frontier changed the clothes from black tux to bright pink tux with solid gold buttons.
Earl changed it from black tux to hula skirt and coconut bra.
In the end they both just 'changed clothes', but Earl's creations made it seem like more was changed.
He gave us some very basic park rides like tilt-o-whirl, a swing ride, plus many others for FREE. Have you come up with something better Lord?

I couldn't make a movie or paint a picture either, but it doesn't mean I have no right to form an opinion on those. Even if they're free.
I'm glad so many found enjoyment in Earl's stuff. They didn't affect gameplay beyond the 'pretty' factor. It wasn't for me. It still isn't.
I just find great humor in the fact that Frontier re-skins = bad, Earl re-skins = good.
For example, I think the reskinned rides are neat and add variety, but its not neccesarily something that is worth paying for.
Thats my guess as to why Earl gained such a following.
That was the problem people ran into in the past. Those rides really do jack up the overall size.
What is the file size of the park?
I'd just mention it includes custom rides so people aren't getting weird errors and wondering why.

I personally wouldn't upload twice, makes more sense just to mention it includes AE rides and let people get them on their own.
From the looks of it, most people playing RCT2 have the rides already.
I can't write a song, but I know when I think one sucks, or if it's just not my thing.

I don't get the fascination with the guy's stuff either.

I guess I just liked adding new rides to the game. I was trying recreations that I had to substitute or duplicate rides. It added a lot to the game to me.
You either like it or you don't, just like anything like SOB or something.

Earl reskinned rides to replicate other real world rides.
Frontier created crap plain and simple.
I'd much rather pay for Earl's tilt a whirl than Wacky Worlds' Coffe Cup Ride even if they are both reskinned scramblers. He also took the stupid snowman off the tea cups so it can be placed anywhere in the park and not look out of place.
Even Earl's Wacky Worlds-like Reindeer coaster was more likable than Time Twisters' Black Death Coaster. Who wants to ride a train of rats?
Gonch and Jeff seem to be more senario players than realistic park builders which is fine since it is a game after all and not a sim. In game play you could put in 50 scramblers and the peeps would ride every one of them. building realistic parks however it would look very lame. When I built a replica of Paramount's Carowinds with RCT1 I just left out any rides that the game didn't have. With RCT 2 and custom rides/scenery I was able to put in alot more rides like the balloon chase and even building some rides that were no longer at the park like the swinger.
There is a valid arguement about the increase in file sizes however.
UBRhino if you save the game with the export plug in items checked on(located in your options menu) then upload the park people will be able to see the park just fine and the new rides/scenery will be added to their senario editor menu
Frontier gave us the tea cup ride again except this time it just had different objects sticking out of the middle of it like a big diamond or a coffee grinder.

If you like to make pretty, AE rides can make a world of difference in your park adding extra life and realism that the game on it's own didn't deliver.
If you worry about game play, you don't care because the peeps see the skydiver as a ferris wheel, the swings as a carousel and the super loop as an inverter ship. It makes no difference what the graphical representation is, the end effect on the gameplay is the same.
Two sides of the same coin.
Ideally (in my little world) the game balances these two types of play. RCT2 probably erred on the side of gameplay and RCT3 leans too far towards pretty, which is probably a necessary evil in the attempt to make the game more 'first person', but ends up killing it for all the outstanding reasons SLFAKE described in a recent post here. Then in turn, doesn't offer enough unique pieces or building options to make playing 'pretty' a personal or enjoyable experience.
I admittedly preferred the goal oriented scenario play to willy nilly fantasy creation with no purpose in mind but to be aesthetically pleasing (although RCT3 is forcing me to cross over to the 'dark side' more than I'd like), but when it came to the exchanges and my creations in general (coasters in particular) - I always felt they straddled that fine line. They were unique and 'pretty' enough that they were useful eye candy for fantasy parks, but all were at the core low-cost, high throughput, realistically operating rides with solid peep pleasing stats.
To me AE rides are just eye-candy with no gameplay purpose.
