Alton Towers expected to pay £100k for road improvements

Alton Towers must shell out £100,000 on measures to ease traffic gridlock – before it can build its latest ride. The payment is designed to compensate for the thousands of extra vehicles the new ride is expected to generate on the already traffic-choked country lanes.

The road situation around the park is nothing short of insane...charming village all about with pubs and narrow roads disguised as alleyways, then BAM, a huge amusement park. A more direct route that cuts around the village would be a huge improvement.

Apparently "night life" is even more foreign to Alton Towers than it is to CP. Closing at 5 or 6 PM seems absurd. I was at SFA on a day they closed at 6, and it just seemed bizarre to leave that early.
