Alpine Coaster in Colorado - first one in the USA!

dragonoffrost said:I really got to find the closest alpine slide to NJ since they took the one away from Camelback in the Pocono Mountains. I really miss that ride.

Didn't realize they removed the one at Camelback. I do know there is one in the Smokey Mountains at Ober Gatlinburg - rode it in September:).

The alpine coaster looks like it has all the elements of an alpine slide without the fear of flying off the track. If I were to ride it, I doubt I'd use the brakes at all.

and for those going to Dollywood to ride Thunderhead, you can drive 5 miles to Gatlinburg and take the Swiss Tram Skyway to a pretty cool Alpine Slide. Actually, when you exit the tram you have to take another looong chair lift to the Alpine Slide. They also have a kiddie amusement park at the top.

IMO, the Alpine Coasters looks way more fun than the Alpine Slides.
