Adrenaline Entertainment is counting on Splash Beach, which has become the most popular part of Alabama Adventure in recent years, Randolph said. The company is spending $1.1 million to build Upsurge, a 216-foot long waterslide that takes riders on a winding 47-foot drop into a 25,000-gallon pool.

Is this a new style of ride? I don't recall ever seeing one quite like it. It's like a half-pipe slide but you only go up the side one time. Looks like a lot of fun.

I've been on one of those. They're quite fun but the ride isn't nearly as long as a Tornado Slide.

Great America in Santa Clara has one. I think Del Grosos does too.

Moosh, you are mistaken about DelGrosso's having an upsurge type slide. They do, however, have a unique uphill, gravity induced (as opposed to water jets) ending to one of their slides. I've never really seen anything like what DelGrosso's has in another park.

Upsurge looks pretty nice. Better capacity than a halfpipe or tornado, but at the expense of ride length.
