Alabama Adventure has new life as Splash Adventure

If you climb to the top of the five-story UpSurge flume slide you can see in the distance what used to be the gem of this amusement park, the huge Rampage wooden roller coaster.

Always sad to lose a ride of the caliber of Rampage (see Ozcat), but the rest of the park was a horrible mess the 2 times I visited. Dirty, operations verging on unsafe, unfriendly employees, and not all that much to do. I also never thought Rampage was as good as a lot of other people do (but I never got night rides on it either, so....)

Same here.

Listing it alongside OzCat seemed like an interesting choice.

They're both high middle of the pack and sad to see 'em go.

Rampage during night-time ERT ca. 2004-o5(ish) was some of the best wooden coaster riding I've had outside of Elysburg and Santa Claus. There was an older guy, I think he was named Ed, who was primarily responsible for maintenance of the ride - he showed up for the ERT and answered questions and all. It showed that he cared...a lot.

edit: Sweetness - I used the Google wayback machine and found the 2005 TR from Josh H, along with posts from Mooshie.
