Alabama Adventure gets OK for hotel, campground, indoor water park

The Bessemer City Council has approved a development agreement with Alabama Adventure that calls for the building of a 280-room hotel with an indoor water park and a 320-site campground. The campground could be complete sometime next year. The area will sport bathhouses, playgrounds and an ATV trail. It will take 14 months to build the hotel, which would open in 2008.

Hotels are slowly beginning to go hand-in-hand with parks. Too bad Shapiro didn't get that memo before nixing the hotel in Jersey.
