Airtime on Vertical Loop of Batman The Dark Knight

I have a question. My friend and I were recently at Six Flags New England, and we rode B:DK for the first time. I got some airtime on the vertical loop, and we were trying to figure out if it was negative g's or just us falling out of our seats because it was going slow. Just curious to see what other people's guesses are.

Umm....what?

Falling out of your seats because it was going slow IS negative G's (or at least less than 1 g).

Not the same negative G's you get going over a bunny hill, but gravity is now pointing (relatively) upward and if that's enough to overcome your centrifugal inertia, then you get negative (or less than 1) g's and you feel floaty.

Unless you were in the front and fell into your restraint because the rest of the train was catching up. That's not really airtime though.

AC?, RB?, MF?, DD?, PR? Who can keep track of it all?

It's more widely called hang-time, it's especially felt in the large loops on the floor-less coasters ala BKF, BDK, and SKC. You basically fall into the restraint.

Hoo doogies! I L O V E hangtime. It's one of the best sensations on a coaster, next to airtime. You definitely felt hangtime, you weren't getting airtime though-MarimbaGuy. I don't think its possible to get air off a loop, but you can definitely hang there for awhile ;-)

Make it to SFNE for S:Ros and BDK!!!!

The 0-g roll is the nastiest airtime/hangtime (whatever you prefer) on B: TDK.

thats called hangtime, alot of BM coasters have it thru their loops, Medusa at SFGADV has some in the front of the train. i found a lot of hang time on B:DK. especially thru the zero -g roll.
Vortex at PKI has mass amounts of hangtime on thw corkscrews!!! Wholy cow, it seems dangerous. I almost lost my hat right off my head from gravity. Yes, a fun ride though.
