Air's lack of theming.

Just a thought, but what is Air's themeing going to be. Its done by Tussauds and John Wardly so i should not really worry, but how will it fit into the Forbidden Valley theme.

The name itself is kinda different, to Nemesis, Ripsaw and Blade (the other rides in the Valley) 'Air' does not really fit in nor does it's colour scheme (blue) as opposed to the reds, browns and blacks of the other rides.

How do you think it is going to fit in??

From what I understand it's supposed to be heavily themed (That's what's been taking the longest), and water is supposed to play a role.
Its not suuposed to be as scary as the themeing of Nemesis or Oblivion either.

The colour is more of a turquoise colour. The lift hill is black so it is not an eyesaw to it's surroundings. John Wardley says it will fit into the Forbidden Valley, so it will! The ride will probably have a story behind it like most rides at the park. Ana alien type theme is most likely. I shouldn't worry, B&M aren't going to let their first flying coaster be without decent close surroundings. The train will probably fly over streams like those of Nemisis.

Just for the record Nemisis's themeing was not done by John Wardley, just the Tussauds studio.

My way, my way or the highway.

AIR is  supposed to be  themed "fear of drowning".
Drowning? I'd be a little disturbed not to mention put off going on a ride that was advertised to make me feel like I was drowning. Jump off a cliff, OK, but suffocating, nah, do the maths.

Its about flying, through erm, air! There's a press release from Towers a while ago about how the theming will not be as scary as Nemnem, and Oby, so the ride will not appear as challenging, enticing a wider range of the public to ride it. So I think it will just look nice. It's a nice chilled out, relaxing kind of blue. The new lake will look nice, and the ride will just fly around over the trees and skim the water, more uplifting than thrilling......

Just like perfection, floorless...needs no correction, floorless...like no other, floorless... absolutely floorless. The Ones.

I could see how it would be themed after the fear of drowning if it's called AIR...

Mayday - Memorial Day Weekend - Nonpoint, Nickelback, Oleander, Staind
Ozzfest - June 8 - Drowning Pool, Papa Roach, Linkin Park, Disturbed, Black Sabbath
Awake Tour- June 15 - Darwin's Waiting Room, Puddle of Mudd, Deftones, Godsmack

I just think themeing a ride about drowning is a bit unethical.. I can see where you get your ideas from though.

the theme is an oasis of peace and calm in the chaos of the forbidden valley.

hence the water and cool turquoise track.

I read somewhere that the Nemesis "monster" was escaping from its hole, and that AIR was being built over it to keep it back in. Is there any truth to this?
the theme is 100% confirmed as an oasis type area. i personally think this is a really bad theme, and doesnt fit in at all with the forbidden valley theme, but maybe it will after we have experienced the ride!

did you know that the theme was slightly modified after september 11th? wonder what it was before!

Is it possible you could have went crashing through a Building in the original themeing plans?
