Air time on Georgia Cyclone

I went to SFOG yesterday and rode the Cyclone in the backseat. The air time on this coaster is unreal. I have never experienced air time like this. If your restraints are fairly loose, you will actually think that you are going to fall out of the car. It will actually SCARE you. I never get scared on roller coasters, but the Cyclone will do it. It was also VERY rough. I don't remember the ride ever being this rough. It was very violent. There were little kids getting off the ride and they were crying. I did'nt really care about the roughness because the air time makes up for it.
:) WOO HOO!!! yeah, its my kind of coaster. good to hear it is running well this year.

If you like rougher rides and great airtime, make sure to visit the Dania Beach Hurricane in South Florida...it's a WILD ride!
Yes, the Georgia Cyclone is a masterpiece. Its my favorite wooden coaster, although I haven't been on many good woodies. The airtime is unreal and the attendants aren't lap bar nazis :).

Back left seat on the Georgia Cyclone is perhaps the most ejecting seat you can have on ANY woodie. I've watched seasoned coaster vets holding on for dear life in that seat, it's incredible. One of the kings of negative G's.
I shudder to think that there's any other coaster besides GA Cyclone that can eject me out of my seat so much that I can cross the seat divider and end up on top of the lap bar in the empty seat next to me. I was holding on to dear life also. What made it even worse was that I had no idea of this airtime.

Uh, I think you are mistaken. I live in South Florida, and have been on the Dania Beach Hurricane over 50 times since its opening. Airtime, yes... Rough, not in the least. It is one one the smoothest wooden coasters I have been on. You want rough, try riding woodies like Gwazi or Mean Streak.

I'd Rather Be Riding Rollercoasters

I was there too, were you there in the morning? What a rain storm, I loved it until they shut down the rides for an hour.

Yeah, I rode it in the back left on sat. it had good air, very good but it cut me on the arm. THE BEST woodie in the park is none other then the Great American Scream Machine in the middle. The front good view not much air. The back it whips too much, WAY too rough.

The only other coaster i have ever ridden that has air time similar to GA Cyclone's is The Raven's.

I agree, IMO the GASM is (slightly) better than the GA Cyclone. Although I never rode it in the middle, the airtime in the back is awesome, but very rough!

The GA Cyclone is also very good. SFOG must be the best SF park for woodies.

No, it wasn't me. I was there though, wow that was some fun that sunday morning. I rode batman right when a sudden downpour closed the ride when we got off at the end. Then the damn sun had to ruin our fun. The sun brought all the people back. Oh,we were in line for mindbender (front) after batman got opened again. So, maybe you might of saw me.
The best SF park for wooden rides is SFStL. With Eagle and Boss so close to eachother.......it really is heavenly.
