I actually got my first ride on Millennium Force with a friend who lost more than a hundred pounds in the preceding year. She couldn't fit in most rides either, so that day was very liberating for her. She had not been on coasters since she was a child.

Gastric Bypass surgery is not cosmetic surgery. It is a drastic step only to be taken if you have other complications in regards to the weight such as arthritis, back pain, asthma, diabetes, heart conditions or just "simple" obesity.

Most (if not all) GB doctors will not take a patient if they do not meet certain criteria as stated above. They also require that you have tried other weight loss solutions such as WeightWatchers or other similar program with no success.

I have a friend who has had the gastric bypass surgery and she has lost (since November) almost 70 pounds and is feeling the healthiest she has in years!

"It's Deja Vu all over again." - Yogi Berra
as a ride op at a theme park, we often have trouble geeting some of our "space challenged" guests into their seats. Especially on older style lap bars. The best method is to get the guest to cross their ankles, kness apart, to allow their stomach to sag down between their legs. This usually gives enough room to get the lap bar down.
I too at one time had this problem, most of it could be attributed to my height of 6'5". In 99 it would require about 8 ride ops to get me in Mantis because of the stupid seat belts. Also that year It would also require a mighty shove of an op on Raptor to get me in, which I found out today is why the restraints get chewed up.

I felt guilty and embarrassed that I stacked Mantis once (only once) and the raptor incidents. I had enough so I took action.

I weighted 300 pounds October of 99. I found this little miracle called the Atkins Diet and started exercising. By Opening day I was down to 220 and on Raptor the restraint clicked to it lowest position. Sounds silly, but I was so happy!

I noticed I bounced back up to 240 a little while ago so I am doing it again. I'll be back down there again for opening.

So the conclusion is B&M has changed my life for the better in many ways :).
