AFLAC sighting

Just got back from SFEG. While boarding Twister II I notice a new sign about this ride being sponsored by AFLAC. I was hoping there sponsorship I had read about here would be on new coaster. But I did notice that Twister II had been worked on some over this off season. So I guess if AFLAC's sponsorship goes to improving old woodies that not too bad. I would love to see a new coaster at SFEG (I don't thing I will) but I will say that Twister II was in fine shape I will give it a 7 out of 10. Last summer I would have said a 4 it was gettting terrible.
Yep. Have you seen the adds on TV for AFLAC with the people on the woodie yet? I couldn't tell which coaster it was, but probably was Twister II.

I saw that, and was going to mention it but I forgot. I thought it look like the Coney Island Cyclone, but I guess not.

The coaster in the comm. is brown CIC is white.

I think this is a new trend.

Over at Six Flags Darien Lake...

I saw that all of their coasters are sponsored by some sort of product. Let's see... Mind Eraser? Pringles. Viper? Stridex. Boomerang? Subway... and so forth!!!

Are Six Flags parks selling out??

Is this turning into a NASCAR event where you're going to see more and more coasters/major thrill rides sponsored by products and other 3rd party companies???

God, I hope not. Unless it generates more revenue for future expansion or DEFINATE noticable improvements that otherwise wouldn't have been plausable... then I can see the justification. Otherwise, I see these parks selling themselves out.
Yeah, I've seen that commercial also. I was going to post somthing about it to find out what coaster that was...

Thanks! ;)

Maybe so. Heck, they even have an "official" bottled water. On top of that there are some crazy sponsorships like mentioned.

I'm still waiting for a real headbanging coaster to be sponsored by Asprin or Tylenol. (Heck, they could pass out samples at the exit!)

Also, because of the extremely strict size restrictions Hypersonic has been having, I'm waiting for Jenny Craig to land the sponsorship of that one!

I'm pretty surel that the coaster in the commercial was Coaster @ Playland.

Are they selling out? Absolutely not. They're merely taking advantage of licensing opportunities. This isn't a new phenomenon at all. Just go to Hersheypark and see all their corporate sponsors which they've had for years. Remember kids all those rides you want cost a lot of money and someone has to pay for them.
A business selling out...that's a funny one!

There is no, I repeat NO, entertainment industry that doesn't have some level of corporate sponsorship. Ever see the Redskins play at FedEx Field? How about the Nokia Sugar Bowl? Hell, just yesterday I took a flight on Southwest Airlines (which in case you didnt know is the Official Airline of the Chicago Cubs). Sorry, corporate sponsorships are here to stay. Get over it, or just be mad...
