I just now finished watching the top ten thrill rides special on A&E. If anyone has seen it, what are your thoughts on the rankings? Would you change them around? If so, what ride ranks would you switch around?

Well, first off, MF should be #3. Next, The Beast and Son of Beast duo should be #1. Also, GhostRider should be around #7.
Superman:Ride of steel should have been on the list somewhere. Which one? SFNE of course, although they're all great.
I'd take out the space shot, and skycoaster and make it a coaster top 10. I think I would have put the Legend/Raven in somewhere maybe at #5 and take out Hulk even though I never rode Hulk. At #10 I'd throw in Twister at Knoebels or Boulder Dash. As Simcoaster mentioned I'd put SFNE's S:ROS in there too maybe at #2 instead of Ghostrider.

Parks hit for 2000!
PKD,BGW,DP,HP,PKI,HW,SFKK,SFA,SFNE,LC,GE,QP,Camden,Lakemont,Knoebels, SFO,CP,
What about The Magnum and Raptor? I agree w/ MF being number 1. Both Magnum and Raptor were in the top five in golden ticket. And I think the show was a let down. It was poorly put together
I missed the show. What was the actual top ten?

Parks for 2000: SFEG,IOA,MGM,WDW,PGA,SFMW,SCBB,Lakeside.
#1 Millennium Force
#2 GhostRider
#3 The Beast/Son of Beast
#4 Goliath
#5 Incredible Hulk
#6 Stealth
#7 Texas Giant
#8 Sky Coaster
#9 Desperado
#10 Big Shot
Don't knock a ride that you have not ridden, Ghostrider combines alot of air and good twists and laterals. I feel that it is one of the most well rounded coasters ever, and deserving of a #1 woodie ranking.
I was surprised Desperado made it in. I was also surprised that there were no inverteds or standups.
Maybe the reason that Magnum, and Raptor were not on the list was that there was already one coaster from CP and they didn't want to have more than one ride from any single park. Notice no park has more than one ride on the list.
I also have a problem with accuracy.
Since when is MF 2:45 long?
CP admission $49.00?
Desperado 90mph?
I could go on, but those jumped out at me.

Gotta ride 'em all!
I'm glad that Magnum and Raptor weren't on the show. I get tired of seeing those rides on shows year after year. Raptor IS top 10 material, but Magnum wasn't all that. And Big Shot and Skycoaster shouldn't have even been considered for the show. And whoever said that Ghostrider should have been at #7 needs to ride it first, cause it would be hard for a coaster to beat Ghostrider.
I've been on:
Kumba
Montu
Magnum
Raptor
Goliath
Riddler
Batman
Roar
And none of those top notch rides can touch Ghostrider. I wanna ride Villain, Shivering Timbs, and The Legend to see how they stand. But so far nothing beats Ghostrider.

Goliath: The most intense Hyper in the world.
Go ride The Beast and it's Son...
It would have been nice to see more of the actual rides themselves as they focused more on the interviews. It was kind of nice to see a bunch of different rides than they showed on Discovery's Top Ten.
I was unaware that A&E came out with another top ten list, it looks like it has changed a lot. Does anybody know when the show will be on again by any chance?
I'm not sure when it's going to be aired again. It was really late when I caught it. It started at about 11. I was going to put up the address of the website when I first posted this, but I didn't see anything about it. So I think it was actually a rerun. Here's the address if you want to see if you can find anything.

I dont know. If the show was strickly about thrill rides, meaning rides that give the best thrills, I dont understand how they didnt have Katanga (SkyScraper) on the list. That is about the only device that has come out in recent history that I dont think you could pay me to ride because it looks that damn scary!
Click on the link given by Coasterfreakbailes, then on the line for "all top 10 episodes," then on "wildest rides." You will get to this show, with an opportunity to add your favorite rides -- tell THEM what you've told us!
Hey Everdred, have you even been on GhostRider? If you have you would have agreed with the show.

What about Gold Rusher at Magic Mountain? Matterhorn at Disneyland? I mean, come on! These are intense rides people! ;) Just kidding. I like the list. I'm glad to see that Goliath received some recognition. I'm just sad that Medusa didn't get some. That ride is my all-time favorite as well as a wild ride. Peace. :)

Medusa at Marine World rocks!
I second Soggy and MedusaSeduca, Ghostrider is insane and very worthy of the #1 woodie spot! And I have been on Beast Everdred, doesn't hold a candle to Ghostrider, a near perfect CCI masterpiece! Everything a hardcore woodie fan could want in a coaster, 10 times the airtime and laterals of Beast, with a second half that puts even Beast's awesome intense helix to shame. Everytime I ride it, I'm just amazed and awed that a corporate theme park allows a coaster to run this intense. You guys gotta ride it, CCI really outdid themselves with this wooden monster! Hope CF never ruins it with their infamous trimbreaking.

I couldn't agree more Draco! I sometimes wonder how much longer this thing will run before Cedar Fair does their usual hack job on it. On the other hand they've got to know what a world famous coaster Ghostrider has become, and hopefully will do whatever they can to preserve this classic on the west coast. Rarely will I say that one coaster is worth the price of admission. But Ghostrider(along with Shivering Timbers and S:ROS)is one of those coasters.
