Aerial park views - Windows Live Local

I checked out SFGADV and I couldn't find bird's eye pics for it, just roads and aerial. The pic for aerial is so old that Adventure Rivers is still on it!

When I key in Six Flags Over Texas, Arlington, TX, it pinpoints a residential area in Hurst about 20 miles away.

That is a fantastic view of the park. I started looking for other parks and Disneyland offers some amazing views.

Uh, Maybe because there is a military base just down the street?

Makes sense. I always love waiting on line and seeing the military planes flying overhead. However, why does Google Earth have more recent pictures?

You have to remember that Google Earth, Local Live, and similar services each acquire imaging from different satellite mapping companies. Given that each company probably has has only a handful of satellites, there's always the chance that a particular area won't be updated for months even years given the expanse of land around the world that the companies are trying to cover.
My guess is that no company owns the satalite but it's purchased mapping material from the USGS and other agencys that have satalites up there.

Now this one lets you zoom to within 60-70yds above a object.

Can you imagine what the military has? They can probably count the freckles on your face.

I checked out some of the PA parks-- Knoebels, Hershey, Williams Grove and Dorney. None offers birds-eye views-- in fact Knoebels and Dorney are in black and white!

Hershey does have some good aerials, although it doesn't look like Storm Runner is there, but Roller Soaker is. The two GCII coasters look great from above. Great Bear's supports look like matchsticks thrown about. The birds-eye view would help that out greatly.

Dorney's view is rather old-- Talon isn't even shown. I'm not sure about Knoebels since so much of it is under the trees, I can't tell if Twister is there or not, because you can't get too close either.

Williams Grove is, well, Williams Grove. Dang if that Wildcat isn't sitting in the middle of a field, and Cyclone doesn't look too bad from 70 yards above.

Hehe... if you flip around in the birds eye view pictures from Knott's, Windjammer appears out of the blue in the North and South oriented views, while East and West are newer (post Xcelerator, pre Silver Bullet)
Since Cedar Point is removing WWL look at how much room they are getting!
