First, my prayers go out to his family. Poor guy, he's just a year younger than I am, such an early age to be involved in a fatal accident.

But I also want to know how these accidents regarding employees being hit by the ride they are assigned to, and luckily no one was riding when the incidents occured. The most recent accident involving the same situation besides this one that I can remember is when a worker was killed by a passing train on Scream! at Magic Mountain during a test cycle early in the morning. No one knows why these employees were in the gated-off track area, especially when the ride is being cycled.

This is not good. Such a young age is right.

Prayers to his family.

When I worked at one of the parks I wored at we had to watch a safety video reguarding crossing the tracks when the train was not in the station (i.e. don't do it) as a result of someone being killed jumping the tracks in front of a train at SFMM (Revolution).
what makes matters worse is one of my friends worked with this person (and i had a discussion with last night regarding the incident), so it really hits home especially being an op myself... -- i thought for sure he was going to make it :(.

its wierd the local paper here now says he fell face first onto the track.

news12 is saying he was walkin on the track.

Adventureland cannot figure out how and why he was there. the ride was operating normally and no problems

Really need to put WHICH Adventureland it is in the topic's title.

Sad nonetheless...

Today another death occured a lady was thrown from the top scan ride and landed on a car.

I am upset this was probably the best flat i have ever been on. . This park is being closed down . the only park on long island.

I wouldn't think that the park would still be in business.
This is the most common type of amusement park worker death, a failure to follow lock out, tag out. Don't get in the way of a lot of energy unless it is locked out correctly.

Follow your lock out, tag out procedures. They exist to keep you alive, not to annoy you.

that is soo sad. i knew stephen and his family personally. my heart goes out to them...
