Adventureland Park officials said the track for the park’s newest roller coaster is complete before the Iowa winter sets in. The Dragon Slayer is an S&S 4D free-spin coaster. It’s a steel coaster with side-mounted seats that freely rotate.

One of the oddest things I’ve seen in a while is the loops from Dragon that got left behind. No demo. Someone said they’re for decor, themeing, atmosphere, however you want to say.
This park is really something. I havent been in several years now, so maybe with some of these additions it’s better.
Removing Dragon is also a step in the right direction...
Replacing Dragon, however bad it may have been, with a Free Spin strikes me as one step forward, one step back.
While I cannot stand these, (at least the only one I've ridden) I can see how this will be a hit for the park. A totally unique experience in the middle of Iowa (read: far away from a Six Flags) with cool touches such as the remains of the old coaster.
I for one have been wanting to visit this park for a very long time.
I have had mixed rides on the S&S Free Spins (I think I've ridden 4 at this point). Some times they're crazy wild, sometimes they're totally boring. I think they are a pretty solid addition to any mid-sized or smaller park and I think it will be a pretty big hit at Adventureland.

The Dragon was a category one turd.
S&S Free Spins are category one turds.
There are many good reasons to visit Adventureland. The new coaster is not one of them.

If you want to stand in line waiting for a Free Spin, have at it. I figure anyone who does that isn't clogging up the queue for better rides elsewhere in the park :)
