Additional Cedar Point 2002 Improvements

Other than that big yellow twisty thing, and the dog on ice skates, what other 2002 improvements are we to see? Usually a coaster or two get a re-paint, and sometimes they add a food hut, and there seems to be a rumor of losing one of the bumper cars to MIA....

So, for all you CP insiders, what other surprises are in store for us when those gates open in May?

LOL.. I can' help but to laugh at the whole "Big yellow twisty thing and the dog on ice skates" bit..

... I think there will be plenty of small "surprises" awaiting us, but nothing to make a real big deal out of. What these "suprises" will be I do not know... but I doubt its anything to get worked up about if thats the case.

Mantis is supposed to be painted this year and Magnum the following year. A sitdown resteraunt by Magnum (maybe in the Dodgem spot) would make sense, but perhaps that will be next year.

Ride the New England Bush!

What about all the other names in the webcam, fury, gale, vektron......when i was there 2nd to the last weekend, there was a lot of work being done down by the Sandcastle (adding a tower maybe?), and some at the original entrance to Soak City. I think the new coaster will be awesome! Can't wait to try it out next spring.

a couple of new restrooms....Can't wait for that! ;)

I dunno about you guys, but I LOVE impulses...just not impressed by the twists :( I'd love to see 2 straight spikes...but, then again...DIVING down the front of that spike going spiraling toward the ground seems like it's gonna kick ass.

I believe the statistics said they were spending $9 million on the coaster and $13 million total, so that's $4 million for the Snoopy show and other improvements.

Are they going to add another sit-down restaurant? I thought Jeff had mentioned something about that.

It's obviously not a waste of space since people still ride it.

Mean Streak is an excellent ride! What are you smoking?! Who cares if it has brakes? I still love the ride.

Anyway, CP probably has all new flowers and whatnot worked into that figure...

Coaster 131, if you went to another park besides cedar point you might get to ride a good coaster for a change. go to coney island, santa cruz boardwalk or knobels and lake compounce and ride some good coasters

I think it would be nice if some of that 4 mil for the Snoopy show went to some retracking or track improvements on some of the rides. Mean Streak comes to mind right off the bat.

As for another sit down, they probably wouldn't announce something like that. They will just build it and it will be there next year.
